Is Hitler lurking in YOUR garage?
Been doing some garage cleaning. Found folders w/ critiqued manuscripts dated 1995ish. Wonder if those are worth reading and finishing.
I tweeted the above on Saturday. @cuppacafe had been in the garage looking for some Halloween things, and I went through a couple of my old boxes. The manuscripts were fun, as was the TV Guide from my October 1995 appearance on CBS 48 Hours and a slew of congratulatory cards. I also found a ton of research materials for books I never finished, but I think...

In and Out and About
That's where I am, and why my posting is going to be sporadic the rest of the month. As most of you know, I own a Web design business, and my partner is currently on leave because of this. The nerve of the woman. *g* Anyhow, I'll do my best to pop in, but I'm not sure I'll have time for anything wordy for a couple of weeks. Then again . . .

Goodie Winners
Sorry for the delay in posting. I spent Friday working, Saturday cleaning, and Sunday cooking. We had a big family get together on Sunday for #2's birthday. Lots of good food and good fun with the grandbaby and the dogs and the Wii and the gorgeous weather. Anyhow, the winners from the Heart of LA Readers Luncheon giveaway are:
If y'all will send your addresses to me at ak@alisonkent.com, I'll get the goodies sent out as soon as I can – which might not be for a few days ...

A Southern Fried Italian Aussie Meal
I am not a cook. I CAN cook. I can follow recipes, but I can't use ratios or judge ingredients or do any of the cool things real chefs can do to make a dish come together in an edible fashion. The husband can do that. He only recently bought a bread machine to experiment with. And the best loaf he's made is one where he eyeballed ingredients and used the live yeasty growing thing stored in the back of the refrigerator for leavening. He does the same with other dishes. He makes the best...

Who Needs Ramekins?
When you feed your dogs Beneful, you have plenty of bowls at the ready! Plus, with all the extra faux Tupperware dishes stacked in the cabinets . . . well, that doesn't mean I don't have pretty matching white porcelain ramekins on my Christmas list.
Those are the ingredients for the cake I made for my birthday. At least part of them. I made it again last month, and looks like I'll be making it again this weekend for #2's birthday on Monday. You'd think we'd tire of it, but nah. *g*

Things you may not know about DEEP BREATH
When a guy stops at a roadside diner, he expects bad chili, not a hostage situation. But that's where SG-5 operative Harry van Zandt finds himself when an armed cartel blows through the door. They're not after him but the woman in the next booth, and their message is clear: she's got seventy-two hours to locate and deliver a valuable historical document or her brother dies. And if Harry wants to live, he'd better go with her.
Harry has his own undercover mission to finish, but with a...

Heart of LA Readers Luncheon
As I mentioned yesterday, I attended the Heart of LA's Readers Luncheon on October 3rd. There were around 100 attendees who came to hear Kelley St. John and Cynthia Eden while enjoying an awesome lunch at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant. Both @cuppacafe and I chose their fried catfish, and it was truly some of the best ever.
The night before, we had arranged to have dinner at Sammy's Grill with Toni McGee Causey and her husband. Several other authors came, including Cynthia Eden and Amber Leigh...

Where have I been, you ask . .
. . . or maybe you haven't noticed I've been absent. And that's fine. Lately, there hasn't been much reason to stop by here except to enjoy the very cool autumn theme.
Just looking at it makes me want to bake pumpkin muffins, and I may do that today.
Fall has finally arrived, at least temporarily, and I love the cool weather (meaning temperature in the sixties), though I am really missing the sun. It's been raining for days, and I could use some Vitamin D. Anyhow, here's what's been keeping me ...
