Sealkeeper reaches #112 in LGBTQ+ YA Fiction!

This is the closest I've ever come to reaching a top 100 in any category, so I'm pretty excited right now!

Sealkeeper has been such a great learning experience for me, and I'm really so proud to see it doing well in sales, but even more so, I'm getting a huge thrill seeing what people think about it.

Just had to share, this has me giddy!

"Nom Nom: Hallowe'en Dark Drabbles" Out Now

My horror drabbles feature in Nom Nom: Hallowe'en Dark Drabbles from Black Hare Press.

Originally appearing in my drabble collection, One Hundred: Words / Days / Stories, “Tom Cat” and “Negative Image” were written during a daily writing challenge earlier this year.

“Tom Cat” explores the daily life of a man and his adoptive stray cat, though he seems rather keen on tin can traps…

“Negative Image” is a second-person minute of creepiness. Can you resist checking over your shoulder?
I’m really pleased that the good folks at Black Hare Press chose these drabbles to be reprinted in their monster anthology! It’s available for sale now!

Snippet from "Negative Image":

Night photography is a gamble at the best of times, and most of the results from yesterday’s experiments turned out… so-so.

But one stops you in your tracks. Zoom in, and a man stands in negative image, like a light shines from within him. He’s smiling.

"The Sigh of a Shrieking Puff" Published

Short Story published today!

"The Sigh of a Shrieking Puff" on Del Sol SFF Review, Summer 2022. Originally inspired by
No Man's Sky's exploration and vivid, retro aesthetics.

🚀Space Explorers
🐛Giant Alien Monsters
😏 Snarky Protagonist

Read for Free now!

A Snippet:
--------

—Specimen Scanned—

A hologram of the critter hovers in front of me, a faithful reproduction, detailed and crisp.

—Record Specimen Name—

Sol's sake. How can they expect me to think up a unique name for every stray I find?

I hold the tiny alien up to my visor—nothing more than a small ball of translucent blue jello. It squeals at me, wriggling in my grasp. I jab at my Scanner with a free thumb.

—Enter Name: Jello Ball—

—Error: Specimen cannot be uploaded. Please upload to Solnet to claim 100 credits—

Still out of signal, then. At least the scan has been saved to local data.

Tossing Jello Ball over my shoulder, I engage my jetpack thrusters again, a plume of flame billowing out under my feet. I launch over the nearby edge of the rock bowl and realise I just incinerated a large portion of the Jello Ball population, but no matter. I’ll still get paid.

"One Hundred" Out Soon!

Well hello, Goodreads!

I'm thrilled to announce that my first ever collection, One Hundred: Words / Days / Stories will be available on 24th June!

It's a collection of a hundred 100 word stories written over one hundred days. (Deep breath...)

Most are speculative, whether sci-fi, fantasy or horror, with a few more contemporary stories thrown in for some variety, too.

It'll be available in both kindle and paperback formats.

If you want to show your support (and you don't need to spend a penny to do so) I'd be thrilled if you'd add it to your TBR list, and I'd love to hear what you think about it if you do read - will you have a favourite story? Would you like to see any of the drabbles expanded into longer tales? I'd love to know!
