Colorful Critique: Morning in Three Dimensions
Title: Morning in Three Dimensions
Word Count: about 2600
Summary: A slice of life sci-fi story in which a young girl and her family engage in their usual morning routine. A tiny breakfast and flight practice ensue.
Specific Concerns: I would like to know whether or not I’m portraying the family’s ethnicity and the protagonist’s mobility issues in a “show, don’t tell” yet tasteful manner.
Triggers: Possible body horror
Rating: PG
Race/Ethnic group: Han Chinese
Feedback: For this particular piece I am analyzing
specific issues and concerns as they apply to Han Chinese characters. As I am able-bodied, I cannot offer
commentary on mobility issues. Commentary will be italicized.

1. If you had to bring one book with from a burning building, what would it be? Well I don’t have a whole lot of books in my house (which is where I’m assuming the burning building is taking place) but I do have one really really old psychology manual that is kind of irreplaceable since it’s so old and something that was passed down to me. So I would say it would be that.
2. What is your favorite universe? Probably A Daughter of Smoke and Bone’s universe. Most of my other favorite books take place in pretty shitty universes that I would not want to live.
3. Favorite way to organize your bookshelf? Aesthetic. I mostly keep physical books for their attractiveness so I have a lot of pretty manuals (mostly psych), some of my favorite hardbacks, thick gloss magazines, fancy edition books, ect. I organize those around photos and nick nacks to be pretty looking :P
4. What does your bookshelf look like?
Black, four or five shelves that still need to be totally filled, taller than me. It was a birthday gift from the boyfriend.

I dare you to write from the point of view of a royal
Be creative! Do they love being royal or do they hate it? Do they feel they’re royal enough or do they strive to take down those between them and the throne? Are they/would they be a kind ruler or a ruthless one? Is their country in peace, war, famine?
Think outside the box!
If you’re brave enough to post, don’t forget to tag I dare you to write and indicate whether or not concrit is welcome.
