Catching the glimpse of the sun gleaming off the smallest patch

Of far, far away metal in the sky,

Just before it disappears forever behind a white puff of cloud.

I don’t even see that it’s a plane; still I know

From the instant of blinding sun gleam

What it is, but going where?

From the smallishness of you as you caught a ray of sun

You are high, high in the sky,

Traveling a long distance to an awaited place I’ve never been.

A burning in my chest overtakes me; I must know

To what asphalt will your sky kissed wheels

Kiss next?

“Ribcage was never synonymous for birdcage. I’m not supposed to have these crows in my chest eating the dead butterflies that arose from my stomach; whose carcasses reek of another time, another place, another person.”

Back of the Car

awritersnook:

Write about someone sneaking into the back of someone else’s car. Who is this person and why would he or she do such a thing? Is it a child wanting to go to work with Mommy? A crazy girlfriend determined on figuring out where her boyfriend is going? A man looking for his next victim? Is it an alien, forced into hiding because of a disguise malfunction, unaware of how hot it gets in unattended human cars?
