Blood and Water (Myths and Whispers Vol 1)

Hello Goodreads people :)

I wanted to make an update for any that might be interested- I have a Kickstarter going :) http://kck.st/379iDOR

This Kickstarter is for the second book in my Myths and Whispers series; Blood and Water.

This is the information on the Kickstarter, I hope you'll help me get the next book in the series out if you're a fan or interested!
Blood and Water is the second novel in my ongoing Myths and Whispers series.

Hi, my name is Ruby Carter, I'm the author of the Myths and Whispers series. I love fantasy and am obsessed with mythology. Writing this series has been a dream come true. I am immensely proud of the first book in the series and want to follow it up with a longer secondary book. Here's the kicker though, publishing is expensive. Who knew, right? I am lucky to have worked with incredibly talented people who brought my vision to life in the way of editing and cover design. That's what this Kickstarter is for, to help pay the beyond-talented Jeff Brown for my cover (The picture attached to this page is my first cover, sans title), and also to help pay for my editor.

This is a completely finished novel. All it needs is to get edited, covered, and released this summer so lovers of the series don't have to wait a year between each installment.

In Book one we followed Jax through a quick story that immersed the reader in a world where dragons, werewolves, manticores, and nymphs live unseen among us. In that book, we met one of our protagonists for Blood and Water, Delilah Ali.

In book two we get to learn more about the Myths we love- how they live and how they try to stop the Whispers from ending the world as we know it. Unlike Born of Fire, this book is told from two perspectives- the Ali sisters.

Delilah and her sister Chloe are very different people- very different witches.

Delilah is living in Mythaven, learning with her fellows everything she can to fulfill her purpose as a Myth, but more than that, she's trying to find her sister. Fighting the darkness hidden in plain view is hard enough- add in the agony of people prying their way into her bricked-off heart, and the absence of her baby sister- and Delilah can barely make it through each new day in paradise.

After being abducted by the man who was supposed to be her boyfriend, Chloe has spent far too long being used and tortured. Until she twists her Numen and turns the tables- until she becomes the monster predators run from.

Swaying back and forth between the perspectives of both sisters Blood and Water continues the story started by Jax. We learn more about the new type of predator in the world- the Bleeders. Pathetic excuses for humans who do the Whisper's bidding and try and cast the world into their brand of darkness.

Questions posed in Born of Fire are answered while yet more are brought to light. While the first book in the series was meant to be a quick introduction to the Myths and Whispers series, Blood and Water is a novel of more typical fantasy length (around 350-450 pages).

If we meet our goal and get into stretch goal territory, I would like to create maps of the Myth lines' origins on the earth 2000 years ago, as well as interior illustrations and original art pieces of the Myths to be added to each package.
