Review of Feces of Death by Harrison Phillips ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let me just start by saying: Feces of Death is absolutely insane—in the best way possible. Harrison Phillips has once again proven that he’s the king of gore-soaked, over-the-top creature horror.

This book is messy (pun intended), hilarious, horrifying, and weirdly addictive. If you’re into splatterpunk and creature features, you need to pick this one up! 🐀🩸

The premise is wild right from the start: a toxic chemical spill from a truck accident seeps into the sewer system, and, well, let’s just say the consequences are absolutely horrific. What follows is a parade of chaos, featuring monstrous sewer creatures that you do not want to meet in the dark.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
The story kicks off with Dwight, a disgruntled truck driver who accidentally causes the chemical spill that sets the nightmare in motion. From there, the book weaves multiple perspectives, including Martin, a plumber who just wants to finish his shift in one piece, and Jasper, a down-on-his-luck homeless man whose encounter with these mutated sewer creatures is equal parts tragic and grotesque. Jasper’s scene in the sewer tunnel? Let’s just say I’ll never look at a drain the same way again. The way his fate plays out—being dragged into the darkness by something that’s part rat, part God-knows-what—is nightmare fuel.

One of the standout moments is when the creatures begin invading the town. The attack on Sandra’s dog Toby is horrifying, but it’s the escalation—entire streets being overtaken by these flesh-eating monstrosities—that really amps up the tension. Phillips has a talent for writing gore that’s so vivid you can almost smell the stench (and trust me, you don’t want to).

What I loved most about this book was how wild it was. The pacing is relentless, the characters are surprisingly relatable, and the mix of dark humor and sheer terror keeps you hooked. The final act, with Martin leading a desperate attempt to stop the creatures from spreading further, is a bloody, explosive spectacle that had me glued to the pages.

This book isn’t for everyone—it’s graphic, gross, and definitely not for the squeamish—but if you’re a fan of extreme horror and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty (figuratively), Feces of Death is a must-read. Just maybe don’t eat while you’re reading it.

Review of Bloodhounds by Harrison Phillips ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow. Just... wow. Bloodhounds is a visceral, heart-pounding, and downright brutal ride through the darkest corners of human cruelty. Harrison Phillips pulls no punches in this gripping tale of horror, and while it’s not an easy read, it’s one that lingers with you long after the final page.

The story follows Jess, a compassionate APS (Animal Protection Society) inspector, and her ex, Andy, as they go undercover to infiltrate a brutal dog-fighting ring. From the very first chapter, Phillips immerses you in a gritty, morally gray world where the stakes are life and death—not just for the animals but for Jess and Andy as well.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
The tension is dialed up to 11 when Jess and Andy attend one of the fights. The descriptions of the dogs and their suffering are gut-wrenching, and the arena itself—a grim, makeshift ring surrounded by shadowy figures—feels alive with menace. The moment Jess’s hidden camera is discovered by Roy, the charming yet terrifying ringleader, had me holding my breath. And when the bloodhounds, Bonnie and Clyde, are unleashed in the chaos, it’s an unforgettable and heart-stopping moment.

Jess is a standout character. Her fierce determination to save the animals, even at great personal risk, makes her easy to root for. Andy, with his cocky attitude and complicated history with Jess, adds tension and depth to the story. Their partnership—though strained—creates a dynamic that keeps the plot moving and the stakes high.

Phillips’s ability to craft atmosphere is incredible. The grimy underground world of the dog-fighting ring feels oppressively real, and the detailed, unflinching descriptions of violence are not for the faint of heart. But beyond the gore, there’s a strong emotional core: the love and care Jess feels for the animals and her unyielding drive to bring justice to their abusers.

The ending is explosive, chaotic, and deeply satisfying. Without giving too much away, justice is served in the most cathartic way possible, and it’s a conclusion that will have readers cheering for Jess’s resilience and courage.

If you’re a fan of extreme horror with a purpose—stories that make you feel every moment of dread, disgust, and triumph—Bloodhounds is an absolute must-read. It’s not just a horror novel; it’s a dark, unflinching look at the lengths people will go to for justice and redemption.

Review of Valxika the Bandit by Jerry Blaze ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Valxika the Bandit is a wild and visceral journey through a lawless, blood-soaked world. Jerry Blaze delivers a tale that's equal parts raw, exhilarating, and downright outrageous, blending dark fantasy with extreme action and a touch of irreverent humor. If you’re a fan of morally complex antiheroes and chaotic adventures, this is a must-read! 💀⚔️

The story follows Valxika, a sorceress and fierce bandit leader, as she navigates a treacherous path filled with betrayal, raids, and unexpected alliances. From the moment she steps ashore after a shipwreck, her unrelenting charisma and cunning take center stage. She’s not your typical hero—she’s brutal, sensual, and unapologetically selfish at times, but that’s what makes her so magnetic.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
One of the standout moments is Valxika's bold raid on a merchant caravan, where she doesn't just seize gold and supplies—she also liberates a group of enslaved people. Her fury at discovering the human cargo is palpable, and the brutal punishment she delivers to the slaver (involving some very creative uses of her sword) is both shocking and satisfying. This scene perfectly captures the duality of her character—ruthless yet driven by a warped sense of justice.

Another jaw-dropping sequence comes during a celebration after a successful raid. The raunchy, over-the-top revelry showcases Valxika’s hedonistic side, as she indulges in drink, debauchery, and, let’s just say, very memorable interactions with her crew. Blaze doesn’t shy away from the explicit, and while it’s not for everyone, it adds a layer of rawness to the story.

The action is relentless, with vividly described battles that leave no detail spared. The final showdown, where Valxika and her ragtag band of villagers face off against a well-armed group of soldiers, is pure chaos. Her strategic brilliance and ferocity shine as she leads her people to an unexpected victory, proving once again why she’s a force to be reckoned with.

This book isn’t for the faint of heart—it’s graphic, violent, and laced with explicit content. But if you’re looking for a fast-paced, no-holds-barred adventure with a larger-than-life protagonist, Valxika the Bandit delivers in spades.

Review of No Way Out: A Horrific Romance Halloween Novella by Santana Knox ⭐⭐⭐

So, No Way Out is definitely a unique read—dark, intense, and unapologetically wild. It’s packed with everything you’d expect from a horror romance: creepy settings, twisted dynamics, and some seriously steamy moments. But honestly? It just wasn’t for me. That’s not to say it’s bad—it’s actually really well-written—but it didn’t hit the mark for me personally.

The story follows Camila Machado, a grad student who gets sucked into a whirlwind of lust, danger, and manipulation during what’s supposed to be a fun Halloween corn maze event. From the start, the vibe is tense, and the chemistry between Camila and the mysterious men she encounters is palpable. Knox creates an atmosphere that’s equal parts eerie and seductive, which definitely kept me turning the pages.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
One of the big twists is when Camila finds herself trapped in the maze, face-to-face with a masked scarecrow who quickly turns the situation from creepy to… well, very adult. Let’s just say the interactions between Camila, her professor Dr. Harkins, and the enigmatic Ezekiel are anything but subtle. The power dynamics, the blackmail, the intensity—it’s all there, and it’s written with bold confidence.

The corn maze itself is probably my favorite part of the book. The way Knox builds the suspense—thick fog, distant screams, and the feeling that something sinister is always around the corner—is genuinely impressive. I loved the Halloween vibe, and the maze felt like its own character in the story.

Now, as much as I appreciated the atmosphere and the bold storytelling, the characters didn’t fully connect with me. I found myself wanting a bit more depth or motivation behind their actions. Camila’s decisions, especially, felt a little hard to root for at times, and the ending, while explosive, left me feeling more confused than satisfied.

That said, I think fans of dark romance and horror with a heavy dose of spice will love this book. It’s daring, creative, and doesn’t shy away from the extreme. For me, though, it just didn’t quite click—but that’s totally on me.

If you’re into steamy, boundary-pushing Halloween stories with a dark edge, give this one a shot. It might be your new favorite!

Review of O Come All Ye Fearful by Carietta Dorsch & Sarah DeRosa ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

O Come All Ye Fearful is a dark, gruesome, and unapologetically twisted take on the holiday season. This isn’t your typical Christmas story—Dorsch and DeRosa have crafted something equal parts horrifying and enthralling. If you’re into extreme horror with graphic detail and an undercurrent of black humor, this book is your ticket to a truly terrifying holiday experience. 🎄☠️

The story primarily follows Marshall Steele, a butcher with a deep-seated hatred for Christmas, fueled by a traumatic childhood and years of suppressed rage. His disdain for the holiday culminates in a bloody, horrifying spree of violence that will leave readers both cringing and captivated.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
Marshall’s breaking point comes when his wife Margaret’s festive preparations push him over the edge. In one of the book’s most chilling scenes, Marshall turns a simple kitchen tool—a cookie cutter—into a weapon, brutally murdering Margaret while gingerbread dough sits half-prepped on the counter. The way her blood mingles with the scent of holiday cookies is disturbingly vivid and sets the tone for the horrors to come.

From there, Marshall’s descent into madness is both relentless and grotesque. The arrival of a group of cheerful carolers seems innocent enough, but it’s here the story reaches its macabre peak. Marshall drugs the women, drags them to his basement, and subjects them to unspeakable torment—candy canes become weapons, Christmas lights become choking devices, and even the concept of a holiday feast is twisted into a nightmare as he “prepares” one of the carolers like a stuffed turkey.

The authors excel in creating an atmosphere that’s as darkly comedic as it is horrifying. Marshall’s gleeful commentary as he enacts his twisted version of holiday cheer makes him both revolting and strangely compelling. The visceral descriptions of violence are not for the faint of heart, but for fans of extreme horror, they are masterfully written.

Despite the gore and depravity, there’s a surprising depth to the story. Marshall’s hatred for Christmas stems from genuine trauma, and the book offers glimpses into the pain and rejection that shaped him. It’s not enough to excuse his actions, but it adds layers to his character and makes the story more than just shock value.

If you’re ready for a holiday tale like no other, O Come All Ye Fearful will take you on a rollercoaster of blood, insanity, and dark humor. Just make sure you don’t read it while eating gingerbread cookies. 😉

Review of Girth by Harrison Phillips ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Girth is a shocking, visceral, and utterly captivating dive into the dark underbelly of adult entertainment—and the sinister secrets that thrive in its shadows. Harrison Phillips pulls no punches in this extreme horror tale, and wow, it’s not for the faint of heart. 😱

The story centers around PleasureHub, a powerhouse in the adult film industry, and a string of brutal murders targeting its stars. What starts as gruesome slayings quickly spirals into a twisted narrative involving severed appendages, a masked killer, and a bizarre "herbal remedy" that takes this already dark story into a whole new realm of macabre.

🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨
One of the most jaw-dropping twists involves Chet Collins, the sleazy yet charismatic head of PleasureHub. His connection to the murders is teased throughout, but the moment Detective Morris discovers Chet’s gruesome collection of severed penises drying in his office is chef’s kiss horror perfection. And let’s not forget the gut-punch revelation about his “miraculous enhancement” that ties everything together in a chilling, grotesque bow.

The gore is relentless—from the first murder (Maxwell Strong’s horrifying demise) to the gut-wrenching final confrontation. The killer’s MO is brutal but precise, and the white kabuki mask adds an extra layer of terror. That final scene, where the truth about Chet comes to light and his past collides violently with his present, had me on the edge of my seat.

The characters are as vivid as the carnage. Detective Morris is a perfect anchor, grizzled and world-weary yet determined to solve this grotesque case. And the victims, like Delilah and Benson Bailey, are more than just fodder for the slaughter—they’re flawed, complex, and tragically human.

Phillips’s writing is raw and unflinching, blending dark humor with relentless tension. The setting—a mix of luxury film sets and isolated murder scenes—creates a claustrophobic atmosphere that amplifies the horror. The pacing is relentless, with just enough downtime for the mystery to simmer before exploding into chaos.

If you’re a fan of splatterpunk, extreme horror, or stories that don’t shy away from the grotesque, Girth is an absolute must-read. Just don’t expect to sleep peacefully afterward. 😉

Where Dreams Are Entombed BY Chase Will|Double Feature REVIEW

Where Dreams Are Entombed by Chase Wills

Where Dreams Are Entombed is utterly INSANE and beyond creative. Chase is definitely one to keep your eye on👀

He came up with a story that was so imaginatively DARK and also made me very queasy at times. How far would you be willing go for money?

Tommy is a struggling single dad that lives paycheck to paycheck. He cuts finances down where he needs to in order to make it by but even in doing that, he still finds himself short at times. When Tommy is presented with an opportunity that will pay him generously he can’t help but go to this “Creator” to find out what exactly he has to do in exchange. Once “The Creator” enters Tommy’s life he quickly realizes that no matter what he does, he will never be rid of her and there will be consequences regardless of his choices.

This book had me in a FRENZY of emotions. Chase wrote this story well and the characters were all very interesting from one another. Tommy was easy to love. He wants to do what’s best for his son but also wants to achieve his dreams of being a successful musician. The story was perfectly paced and everything just meshed together seamlessly.

Book Two ⬇

Where Dreams Are En2mbed: Abstraction by Chase Wills

I was extremely impressed with this sequel! It’s not often that I enjoy a sequel equally or more (in this case) than the prequel. I said it before but Chase Will is an author to keep your eye on! He has a talent when it comes to writing compelling stories that are filled with everything that makes a story successful. The way things are left in this one leads me to suspect a third installment in this series 😉 I sure hope that is the case, anyway!

In the start of this sequel it immediately picks up where book 1 ended. Unfortunately, Tommy did not escape the creator like he thought he did. However, in this story we are focusing on a new character named Ember. Ember just recently went through a terrible breakup and the woman her boyfriend cheated on her with turned Ember in for underage drinking, getting Ember expelled from the University.

Ember is working and spending time with her grandmother until she figures out what she wants to do to keep her dream of being a successful artist in the horizon. One day, Ember receives a mysterious email about an art competition and that she would receive a nice sum of money just for showing up. Of course Ember decides to attend this competition but she finds the address leading her to a dark secluded building that is locked. So what does Ember do? She breaks in of course. Turns out this was the right building after all and she is just in time for the competition to start. Shortly after the competition starts, Ember quickly realizes that this competition INDEED has quite the catch. A morbid and unexpected catch…There is a new “Creator” and the madness is still very much happening but with new people this time around.

I don’t want to give too much away because this book is filled with plot twists and creatively dark kills. Will did a phenomenal job with this sequel! I was not expecting to enjoy it as much and definitely not MORE than the first book. This book had me in a chokehold and didn’t let go until the last page and left on a GIANT cliffhanger! Will knows how to lure his readers in and leave them craving more!

This was just as BRUTAL as the first book and very engaging. I was so captivated by Will’s writing and was on the edge of my seat to know what would happen next.
