Graham Smith is an oral historian. He has worked in community and academic oral history and has a long interest in the oral history of medicine and medical humanities more broadly. He has worked in China, Pakistan, and across the UK. He has also worked with the Roma community in London and the Ukrainian community in Bradford.

In the 1980s, Smith worked in Dundee, Scotland. From 2004 - 2017 he was chair of the Oral History Society, and in 2017 he moved to the University of Newcastle to help establish the new Oral History Unit and Collective.
