Publications: >150 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, chapters, and abstracts. A career that includes a sabbatical at L’Institut Pasteur in Paris, an Infectious Diseases Endowed Chair, Select Agent studies requiring DOJ security clearance, and BSL-3 biosafety training. Research was funded for 30 years by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) through grants and contracts totaling just over $20 million. This is an excellent read for those who want to understand all the reasons for the Black Death of the 14th Century. Very detailed with lots of citations. I read this book to research the plague for a book that I was writing. You will be amazed when y ...more
