So, today marks the end of the Goodreads Giveaway for Throne Crone & Other Tawdry Tales. The result was pretty good by all accounts, given the relative unpopularity of short stories, and I just want to say congratulations to the winners—I hope you enjoy reading this collection as much as I enjoyed writing it, and I’d be very grateful if you could leave a review and/or rating—and commiserations to those who didn’t get lucky this time. There will be another when my next novella is finished, sometime around 2099  the way things are currently going.

COMING SOON…

Several weeks ago, at something of a loose end, I sat down and started writing a little snippet of horror. Within an hour it became a prologue for something longer, within a day that something longer became the beginnings of a novella, and within thirteen days the entire first draft was written.

And though I’ve never compiled a bucket list, having a story fall out like that, no outlining, no discussion, no research, would certainly be on there. Twenty-thousand words in under two weeks is unheard of for someone as slow and deliberate as me.

So I’m thrilled to announce the pending arrival of Eyes Wide Open, a little horror tale set in the fictional seaside town of Hartmouth. I’ll sit on the draft for a month, then probably take another two to get the thing edited, proofread, and marketed.

And until then, watch this space…
