The story is fiction, but the feelings expressed come from my heart.

The idea for Nerida Kai came from my granddaughter; she was born with a small patch of blue in her beautiful brown eyes and grew up to love mermaids. The story just took shape from there and many of the character details included are based on the looks and mannerisms of my grandchildren.
