Writing is not just a passion for me. It is a lifeline to my sanity.

I have always loved writing but suffer from severe dyslexia and short-term memory retention issues. I struggled in school while I worked every night on re-training my brain.

I was frequently treated like I would never succeed, and I found myself putting my love for writing on a shelf.

Even at the age of six, I found it easier to communicate with animals than people, which was a big reason why I was drawn to dressage horseback riding. I remained focused on my passion for riding until I had to step away from the competition world for personal reasons.

Today, my desire for writing and storytelling has been rekindled. I have published multiple books and will never let anyone or an

Of all the things I could say that may be helpful, the one that has helped me the most is to find your people.

That means you need to surround yourself with a good support team. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and alone in the author bubble. Pick a team that will help you grow as an author and become the very best version of yourself and will be there when you're feeling the lowest.

We all have days where you doubt yourself and wonder why you bother to write at all. We call it imposter syndrome and you're not alone. We all suffer from it but, it is the team and their love that will hold your hand through the dark and help you to keep going.

The people that are an absolute must are: Author friends that you can writing sprint with, bounce ideas off off and will have your back when others choose to be mean. Pick a Beta team to read your work and to make suggestions or find inconsistencies in your story. A sensitivity reader if you're going to be broaching any topic that is outside what you personally know, and this can span from a type of sport to religious beliefs and everything in between. You need an editor that will work with you, not fight you on your vision or change your work into something you no longer recognize. A good editor will never crush out your voice. You need an amazing arc/blogger team that will give you honest feedback and find errors that were missed in the beta and editing process. I'd also recommend someone that can act as a PA for you and help keep your head straight when there is a million things on the go. Lastly, you need a friend or family member or even a pet you can cry to when you simply need to cry because it has all become too much and you feel like you want to quit.

Don't quit. Keep going. Pick yourself up, because you are great and you've touched someone's life in a positive way and they love you and your work even if you never see them.(less)

I could be the only one in the house and the thing will be wide open. I think the ghost likes cereal. (less)

Burn Me Down

Final touches on the doc are done and it is loaded to go out for ARC. It is always nerve wracking to send out those first ARCs and wait to see what everyone thinks. I will officially be a nervous wreck tomorrow. lol

"What can I even say about this book? BC absolutely killed it! I never doubted for a second, but wow—this one was a beast! At nearly 670 pages, and it was action-packed from start to finish. We are not worthy!

No filler, no wasted scenes. Just pure in" Read more of this review »

“Fuck, I’ve missed you,” Jace whispered in my ear as he pressed his body harder into my back, pushing me harder into Raine. Our relationship had changed multiple times over the years, but one thing remained the same. We realized that no matter what, we couldn’t live without each other.”
Brooklyn Cross, Malice

“We need to talk’ was the equivalent of ‘I’m punching you in the face with my words before I fuck you up the ass without lube and with something you won’t like.”
Brooklyn Cross, Unhinged Cain

“What would you do if I climbed under the blankets and fucked you the way you should be fucked, Sunshine,”
Brooklyn Cross, Unhinged Cain
