The Fish in the Ocean
The Fish in the Ocean
The fish in the ocean and birds in the sky
Have more freedom than you or I
The leopards on the savannah the crabs on the beach
Learn more than our schools have to teach
The elephants on the plains, the ants on the dirt
Find it much harder than we to get hurt
The parrots in the forest, the bears in the ice
Eat healthier than our pizza and chips and soda and rice
The peacocks in monsoon and the nightingales in the trees
Don't worry about mosquitoes and flies and bees
The monkeys swinging over our heads
Don't worry about houses and beds
The dolphins diving through the sea
Don't worry about studying or getting a degree
The dogs roaming through the streets
Only worry about their eats

Morning
Trees swaying in the breezeBirds flying with total easeSquirrels jumping with reckless abandonFlowers drinking the warmth of the sun
Sunday, funday, humans rejoiceAs the chattering creatures find their voiceChirping, laughing, blowing windAre with laughing, chatting, crying entwined

Shapes in the clouds
There is a bakery in the sky, with cakes and bread and baklava
Craggy mountains overlooking a dusty desert
Salty water washing over loamy dirt
Unicorns galloping and phoenixes soaring
Bubbling brooks, and waterfalls pouring
Towering skyscrapers near peaceful country homesteads
Sun shining bright over fluffy mattresses and beds
Boats sailing into treacherous cyclones
Cheery fairies flying into a skull and crossbones
Music notes drifting lazing away from a songbird
Was sweeter music ever heard?
Lightning bolts and licking flames
Laughing children playing games
Lions and rabbits in harmony
A piano playing a symphony

Aquarium
The stagnant water shimmering and shining like glass
A myriad of fish in all colours swim through the Tank
Some under our feet, some in the ceiling, gorgeous to be frank
Every direction you could turn, up down left right
Is a glass covered, fish filled beauty, such a sight
A red fish conspicuous between her white friends
Race her sisters to all the corners and ends
The wooden door frame seems to be the safe spot
In a game of Sharks and Minnows, none distraught
None unhappy, all joyful, truly this must be to show us
The futility of the life we live, striving for happiness
Never reaching it, always a step behind, forever running after the unattainable
Elusive it may be, but once we are content, it will be stable
A fingertip away, for us to touch but never to grab
If we try it may pinch us, like an ill tempered crab

Secret Garden
Butterflies here and there
Flutter fast and slow through the air
Serene, beautiful, not a sound
Breaks the silence all around
The air smells of air after it rains
Butterflies feasting on nectar and pollen grains
In the beautiful, otherworldly garden
Slim, childish shoots become trees and harden
However, outside, folks are woefully ignorant
Of this little clearing's flowers, silence, and scent

"I'm nobody. History won't remember me. Stories won't be told about me, but I won't let that stop me from fighting for what's right. You are Arthur Pendragon. No matter what happens today, I know for a fact that your story will be told. But it's up to you what legacy you leave behind-- an epitaph... or a legend."
- Hisirdoux 'Douxie' Casperan; Wizards of Arcadia
“These items make up my existence. The library tells my story, the mastodon my mistakes, the ship my discoveries and my abilities to make old things new without magic, and the whale...my limitations, I suppose.”
- Marcus Today; The UnwantedsTIS
"That stuff can kill you from the inside, Hiccup. Revenge, anger, obsession. Trust me, I know. It can make you do things you never thought you were capable of. Cause you to take chances, make mistakes. And if that doesn't end you, it'll eat at you slowly"
- Dagur the Deranged; HTTYD- Race to the Edge
"Even the word hopeless is not devoid of hope"
-Blinkous 'Blinky' Galadrigal; Trollhunters
"Life isn't mangoes and milk tarts, Will"
-Captain Browne; Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms
"Passion is what must take the place of fury. Passion makes us want to live another day, to try to do the right thing. Passion contains love and fear and anger and motivation. Passion keeps you fighting when you want to give up."
-Lisa Mcmann; The Unwanteds: The Island of Legends
"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on"
- Franklin D. Roosevelt
"Your glasses are invisible, and through them you see only yourself. You must turn your lenses around. Windows, not mirrors."

Sensory Overload
Colours blur together
As sky flips to ground
Noises bleed together
An overwhelming sound
A faint realisation
Drowned out by waves of fears
Blood tastes like metal
And sad, salty tears
Soft and hard
Flesh and things not alive
Pressing against skin
Pain flowing from inside
Shouts of panic
People crowding around
Overcome once more
Sinking in a sea of evils abound
I can't see
I can't hear
I can't think
All I feel is fear

Massacre
The blood on the streets mingles with the dust
Turning it a brown red, the colour of rust
Broken pained bodies litter the ground
Surrounded with weeping relatives, confused children all around
The survivors live, with empty eyes and emptier souls
Never forgetting the massacre, never again whole
During sleep, with the images burned into the back of their eyes
In their dreams, all that is seen is red, even the bright blue skies
I Want Bread, and Roses too
I want life and a reason to live
I want enough to eat, and enough to give
I want fire to cook and fire for a torch
I want to sleep in a house and let others do so on my porch
I want to sing and raise my voice
I want to be happy and watch others rejoice
I want sustenance and beauty true
I want bread, and roses too

"Destiny is a gift. Some go their entire lives, living their lives as a quiet desperation, never learning that whet feels like a burden pushing down on our shoulders is actually a sense of purpose that lifts us to greater heights. Never forget that fear is but the precursor of valour, that to strive and triumph in the face of fear is what it means to be a hero. Don't think. Become. "
