The Journey of a Paranormal Romance Author: From Hidden Dreams to Published Worlds

A paranormal romance author has the courage to tell stories that blur the lines between reality and fantasy.

The first time someone actually read my work, my hands shook.

When they said, “I need to know what happens next,” I knew I had found my calling.

What Happens When Love Meets the Impossible

Writing paranormal romance means I get to ask the questions that keep me awake at night.

What if a mafia boss discovered that revenge wasn’t the only thing worth fighting for?

What if death was just the beginning of an adventure across multiple universes?

These aren’t plot devices but explorations of what it means to be human when everything around you defies human understanding.

The inspiration for Serene Night in “Mafia Boss and Her Dog” came from watching a documentary about organized crime and wondering what would happen if the most ruthless person in the room was also capable of unconditional love.

The capacity for both violence and tenderness became the core of her character.

When I wrote about Nina Singh’s reincarnation in “Wolf Awakens,” I wasn’t telling a werewolf story.

The moment when Nina first feels her she-wolf stirring came from my own experience of finding my voice as a writer.

That awakening, that sudden awareness of power you never knew you possessed.

One reader wrote to me: “Nina’s transformation scene gave me chills. I felt like I was discovering my own inner strength alongside her.”

That’s when I knew the supernatural elements had become mirrors reflecting our deepest fears and desires.

Building Worlds Where Hearts Break and Heal

Every story starts with a spark of impossibility that needs to feel completely real.

Creating the universe for “The Space Spoon” was one of my biggest challenges because I had to imagine a future where eating had become obsolete while keeping emotions intact.

When Tejeda shapeshifts, his consciousness flows like water between forms.

The loneliness of never having a true identity became the emotional anchor for his entire journey.

I spent weeks trying to figure out how love could exist in such a disconnected existence until I realized that’s exactly what makes it more precious.

In “Bloody Full Moon,” the hardest scene to write was Laura’s first meeting with Paul.

I rewrote their initial confrontation seventeen times because I needed readers to feel the electric tension between natural enemies who are inexplicably drawn to each other.

Paul’s struggle with his prejudices against vampires mirrors what happens when we meet someone who challenges everything we thought we knew about ourselves.

Laura’s vampiric nature is about carrying darkness that others fear, about feeling like an outsider in your own existence.

A reader once told me: “Laura made me realize we all have parts of ourselves we think are unlovable. Watching Paul see her completely changed how I see myself.”

The Dance Between Human and Other

My characters often exist in two worlds simultaneously, never fully belonging to either.

When I was writing Alarik’s wolf transformation scenes, my own pulse quickened.

The moment when human thought patterns gave way to primal instinct and when logic dissolved into pure sensation and need was terrifying and liberating simultaneously.

Readers frequently ask me which side of Alarik is his “true” nature, but that’s missing the point entirely.

He’s most himself when he stops trying to choose between them.

Hope’s ability to tame beasts in “Hope: The Beast Mistress” came from my childhood fascination with the idea that gentleness could be more powerful than force.

But the real challenge was making readers believe she could tame Drake, not the dragon inside him, but the man who had convinced himself he was beyond redemption.

These internal conflicts create the tension that drives both romance and plot forward.

The supernatural abilities aren’t just cool powers but extensions of personality, sources of both strength and vulnerability.

Think about your own hidden aspects, the parts of yourself you keep carefully controlled.

What would happen if those parts had claws and fangs?

Why Readers Crave the Extraordinary

There’s something intoxicating about stepping into a world where the impossible becomes inevitable.

Over the years, I’ve noticed readers are drawn to paranormal romance not just for the escapism, but for permission to explore aspects of themselves they keep buried in everyday life.

When vampires fall for werewolves despite centuries of enmity, we’re really talking about overcoming prejudice and finding love across impossible divides.

The supernatural stakes make every emotion more intense, every choice more consequential.

In “Simon’s Satisfaction System,” readers often tell me they love Simon’s journey because it represents the fantasy of gaining power after feeling powerless.

But what surprises them is how the story explores the cost of that power, the way revenge can become its own prison.

The system that promises him everything becomes a mirror for our own desires and fears about what we might do if consequences didn’t exist.

One reader wrote: “Simon’s story made me question what I really want when I fantasize about getting back at people who hurt me. The answer wasn’t what I expected.”

What draws you to supernatural stories?

Is it the power fantasy, the forbidden romance, or something deeper about exploring the hidden parts of human nature?

Evolution of Love in Impossible Places

The genre has grown far beyond simple vampire romances and werewolf packs.

When I started writing, paranormal romance was dominated by certain archetypes, but I’ve watched it expand to include everything from alien civilizations to reincarnation systems.

Modern paranormal romance incorporates elements from urban fantasy, space opera, and psychological thriller.

Readers have pushed authors to create more diverse supernatural beings that reflect contemporary concerns about identity, belonging, and social justice.

Digital publishing has allowed for experimental formats like serialization, where stories unfold gradually and authors can respond to reader feedback.

The serialization format for several of my novels has been particularly rewarding because readers become invested in characters over months rather than days.

They send messages asking about character motivations, theorizing about plot developments, and sometimes catching inconsistencies I missed.

One reader’s theory about Dean None in “Mafia Boss and Her Dog” was so compelling that it influenced how I developed his character arc in later chapters.

My own works span traditional supernatural creatures to unique concepts like reincarnation systems and intergalactic adventures.

Each story pushes the boundaries of what’s possible while keeping the human heart at its center.

The Future of Impossible Love Stories

Paranormal romance continues evolving as readers seek fresh perspectives on familiar themes.

I’ve noticed readers are increasingly drawn to stories that subvert traditional power dynamics and explore complex moral questions.

They want supernatural beings who struggle with real-world issues, not just supernatural ones.

Reader preferences have definitely influenced my writing choices. They’ve pushed me to create more morally complex characters and explore darker themes while maintaining the hope and healing that makes romance satisfying.

The transformation happened one reader at a time, one story at a time, and one brave decision to keep writing even when the words felt too raw, too revealing, and too real.

What supernatural world would you want to fall in love in?

Check Out My Novels Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat makes paranormal romance different from regular romance?

Paranormal romance incorporates supernatural elements like vampires, werewolves, or magic as core components of both plot and character development. These elements create unique conflicts and opportunities that wouldn’t exist in contemporary romance, allowing authors to explore universal themes through extraordinary circumstances. The supernatural aspects often serve as metaphors for deeper human struggles with identity, power, and belonging.

How do you make supernatural creatures relatable to human readers?

Focusing on universal emotions and experiences that transcend species. A vampire struggling with loneliness or a werewolf dealing with anger management issues faces fundamentally human challenges. I spend more time developing their emotional lives than their supernatural abilities. The paranormal aspects amplify these emotions rather than replace them, making the characters more interesting without making them less relatable.

Which of your characters do readers connect with most?

Nina Singh from “Wolf Awakens” resonates strongly with readers who feel they’ve been given a second chance at life. Many write to tell me her transformation represents their own journey of finding inner strength. Laura from “Bloody Full Moon” appeals to readers who feel like outsiders, while Serene Night attracts those who appreciate complex, morally gray characters who aren’t traditional heroes but are undeniably compelling.

How do you balance the romance with supernatural plot elements?

The supernatural and romantic elements should enhance each other rather than compete for attention. I use supernatural conflicts to create opportunities for romantic development, while romantic tension drives supernatural plot points. When both elements serve the story’s emotional core, neither feels forced or secondary. The magic should illuminate the characters’ hearts, not overshadow them.

Book Review: Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson

I am beyond stoked to dive into the Mistborn series by the one and only Brandon Sanderson. Now, if you’ve been hanging around the fantasy book community (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), you’ve probably heard whispers of Sanderson’s magical touch when it comes to crafting epic worlds and mind-bending magic systems.

Let’s talk about Brandon Sanderson for a hot minute. This guy is practically a legend in the fantasy realm. Known for his work on the Wheel of Time series and the Stormlight Archive, Sanderson has become a go-to name for those craving an immersive, intricate, and downright fantastic reading experience. I mean, the man even finished Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series—talk about a literary superhero!

So, naturally, when I heard about Mistborn, you bet your favorite bookmark I was counting down the days until I could crack open the first book. Sanderson’s reputation as a master storyteller had me hyped, and I was itching to see if Mistborn would live up to the buzz.

Now, anticipation levels were off the charts. I’d heard rumors of an ingenious magic system, complex characters, and a world so vividly crafted it’s practically a character itself. I couldn’t wait to get lost in a world where Allomancy is a thing, and trust me, it’s a game-changer.

So, grab your cup of tea and find your coziest reading nook, because we’re about to embark on an adventure through the Mistborn series together. Let’s see if Brandon Sanderson lives up to the hype or surpasses it—bucket up, book buddies!

Initial Impressions

First off, let’s talk world-building. Brandon Sanderson didn’t just create a setting; he forged a universe so vivid and detailed that I felt like I could practically taste the ash falling from the sky.

The Final Empire, where Mistborn series kicks off, is a gritty, oppressive world with a stark divide between the haves (the nobility) and the have-nots (the skaa). It’s a setting that sucks you in from page one, and you can’t help but get lost in its complexity.

Now, let’s chat about allomancy, the magic system that’s basically the coolest thing since dog-eared pages. It’s not your run-of-the-mill wand-waving or potion-brewing; we’re talking about ingesting metals to unleash extraordinary powers. Vin, our street-smart protagonist, discovering her Mistborn abilities? Pure literary gold. Sanderson managed to make a magic system that’s not only unique but also central to the plot in a way that keeps you flipping those pages like a mad book fiend.

But wait, there’s more! The exploration of social and political structures in Mistborn series is like peeling back layers of an onion (minus the tears, unless you’re emotionally attached to fictional characters—guilty as charged). Sanderson delves into the power dynamics, the class struggles, and the overall oppression under the Lord Ruler’s regime. It’s not just about the magic; it’s about the people, their struggles, and the choices they make in a world that’s anything but fair.

Plot and Pacing

First up, the plot structure. Sanderson, my literary maestro, has woven a narrative that’s as intricate as Vin’s Allomantic dance moves. We’re talking layers upon layers of story, and each revelation feels like unwrapping a present you didn’t even know you wanted. The dude knows how to keep us guessing, and I am here for it.

Now, the heist element—oh, my bookish heart! Who doesn’t love a good heist, right? Sanderson takes the fantasy genre, tosses in a pinch of Ocean’s Eleven charm, and bam—Mistborn is born. The planning, the execution, the unexpected hiccups—it’s like being part of the coolest, most magical criminal gang ever. Kelsier, Vin, and crew pulling off heists in a world where even the air feels oppressive? Sign me up.

And can we talk about how Mistborn series straight-up flips the script on fantasy tropes? Sanderson takes those well-worn paths, gives them a little spin, and suddenly we’re in uncharted territory. It’s like he took a fantasy checklist and went, “You know what? Let’s do the opposite.” The hero isn’t your typical shining knight; the world isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. It’s gritty, it’s real, and I am loving every page of this subversion.

As for pacing, hold onto your bookmarks, folks. Mistborn series doesn’t let you catch your breath. The action hits you like a sudden gust of Allomantic power, and before you know it, you’re knee-deep in a plot that moves faster than Vin dodging danger. Sanderson manages to balance the explosive action with moments of quiet character development, creating a rhythm that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

World-Building

Let’s kick things off with Allomancy. Picture this: ingesting metals to unleash powers that range from superhuman strength to mind-bending manipulation. It’s like having a buffet of superpowers, and our characters are diving in with gusto.

Vin soaring through the mists or Kelsier pushing and pulling on metals—it’s a visual feast for the imagination. Sanderson has created a magic system that’s not just cool; it’s the beating heart of Mistborn. Every twist and turn and every emotional punch is intertwined with the Allomantic dance, making it an integral part of the storytelling.

Now, Feruchemy is a whole different ball game. It’s the art of storing attributes like strength or speed in metal objects, then tapping into them when needed. It’s a bit like having a magical Swiss army knife tucked away for a rainy day.

Sanderson introduces Feruchemy as another layer to the magic cake, and it adds depth to the characters and their abilities. Sazed, our resident Feruchemist, becomes this walking library of stored knowledge and strength, and it’s downright fascinating.

The discussion around these magic systems is like sitting in on a masterclass. Sanderson doesn’t just toss in cool powers for the heck of it; he intricately weaves them into the fabric of Mistborn’s world. The magic isn’t just a flashy spectacle; it’s a storytelling tool that enhances every aspect of the narrative. Whether it’s a pulse-pounding action scene or a quiet character moment, the magic is there, shaping the story like an unseen hand.

What’s truly remarkable is how these systems contribute to character development and the overall vibe of the Final Empire. They’re not just a means to an end; they’re a reflection of the world’s harsh realities and the resilience of its inhabitants.

Character Development

First in the spotlight: Vin. Our girl Vin goes from a scrappy street urchin to a Mistborn powerhouse, and let me tell you, it’s a journey that hits you right in the feels. Watching her discover her Allomantic abilities and navigate the shady underbelly of the Final Empire is like witnessing a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis. Vin’s growth is not just physical but emotional, and you can’t help but root for her every step of the way.

Now, relationships—oh boy, does Mistborn series serve up some relationship drama (the good kind). The evolution between key characters is like a slow burn that keeps you hooked. Without dropping any names, let’s just say alliances are forged, friendships are tested, and romances spark in the most unexpected places. Sanderson weaves these connections seamlessly into the narrative, adding layers of complexity that make you genuinely invested in the characters’ lives.

And can we talk about the secondary characters stealing the show? Sanderson doesn’t just focus on the main crew; he sprinkles character development magic on everyone, making the Final Empire feel alive with personalities as diverse as a well-stocked library.

What I love most is that Mistborn doesn’t hand out character growth like free candy. Our beloved crew earns it. They stumble, they fall, and they rise stronger. It’s messy, it’s real, and it mirrors the unpredictable nature of life itself. I found myself cheering, cringing, and occasionally yelling at my book like the characters could hear me. That’s the sign of some seriously good character development, my friends.

Themes and Messages

Mistborn series doesn’t shy away from tackling the tough stuff. It’s like the rebellion against the oppressive Lord Ruler is the beating heart of the first book. The characters are thrown into a world where the odds are stacked higher than a fantasy castle, and watching them stand up against the injustices? Sheer goosebumps.

Now, sacrifice and the greater good—get ready to feel those emotional punches. Mistborn weaves a tale where choices aren’t always easy and sacrifices aren’t made lightly. Characters grapple with decisions that could alter the course of their world, and it’s a rollercoaster of moral dilemmas that’ll have you questioning your own choices in life. It’s deep, it’s profound, and it hits you right in the gut.

And the messages and lessons derived from Mistborn? The power of hope in challenging circumstances is a recurring theme that’s like a candle flickering in the darkest of nights. Sanderson reminds us that hope is the spark that can ignite change even in a world where ash and mist rule. It’s a message that resonates, especially when life throws its own curveballs.

But wait, there’s more! Mistborn prompts us to reflect on power dynamics and revolution. It’s not just about overthrowing the big bad guy; it’s about what comes after. Sanderson explores the complexities of change, the aftermath of revolution, and the ripple effects on society. It’s like a crash course in political intrigue, and you’ll come out of it with a brain buzzing like a Mistborn on a sugar rush.

Writing Style

Mistborn is written in a way that welcomes everyone to the fantasy party, whether you’re a seasoned epic fantasy reader or just dipping your toes into the genre. No need for a dictionary; Sanderson’s got you covered.

Now, the skill of balancing intricate details with a fast-paced narrative is like watching a tightrope walker gracefully navigate a treacherous path. Sanderson has this magical ability to sprinkle in all these intricate world-building details without slowing down the story’s momentum. You’re not drowning in exposition; you’re gliding through a world rich in history, culture, and misty mysteries.

And can we talk about the action scenes? Sanderson doesn’t just describe a sword fight; he choreographs a dance of blades that you can practically see and hear from the front row with popcorn in hand, soaking it all in.

Lastly, what I love most is the way Sanderson brings emotions to life. He doesn’t just tell you a character is sad; he paints their emotions, and you find yourself right there with them, feeling every triumph, heartbreak, and mist-induced revelation. He’s the puppet master of emotions, and you willingly dance to his literary strings.

Moments in Time

What is happiness? That’s something I often wonder about when I allow my mind to drift. The answer is both simple and complicated. Happiness does not exist, yet it’s weaved into certain moments in time.

I never experienced sublime happiness. Some might say I am a lost cause, but I have found happiness in the little things.

The moment when a certain soul connected with mine in a way I never thought possible…

My first walk in a new city without any itinerary in mind…

A certain night, sipping a gin tonic in a garden…

All those moments in time were simple and came without me searching for them. They were simply there, waiting for me to find them and grab hold of them.

Happiness exists in fleeting moments; it’s not a permanent state of being.

You know, it’s funny how we can get caught up in the pursuit of some grand, all-encompassing happiness, as if it’s this elusive treasure we need to chase tirelessly.

But in reality, happiness doesn’t need to be this monumental achievement. It’s more like these little, scattered gems that we stumble upon when we least expect it.

Make It Happen

Sometimes life is not about what you do, but what happens to you. Sometimes you are a rock in a meteor shower, running toward your destination so fast and burning so bright that the world around you fades into a blur.

Yet other times, you are the planet itself, and you sit back, doing your old routine of rotating around the sun and around your own axis. Then the meteor shower comes and shines down upon you. You can fear it or you can embrace it, enjoying the moment as it passes.

Life has this incredible ebb and flow, where sometimes you’re the active force propelling yourself forward and other times you’re a passive observer of the events unfolding around you.

When You Least Expect It

Unexpected events can shake up our routine, challenge our notions of control and predictability. They can be intimidating, for sure. Change can be unsettling. But there’s a choice – a choice to fear the disruption or to open ourselves to the wonder of the unexpected.

I remember a particular moment when I felt a connection with someone on a level I hadn’t thought possible. It was like our souls recognized each other, and for a brief moment, the world seemed to stand still. There was no searching involved, no deliberate effort to find happiness – it was just there, waiting for me to acknowledge it.

Speaking of acknowledging… That’s a hard one as well. It takes courage to be vulnerable, to allow ourselves to be seen, to be understood. And it’s even harder to accept when it happens. Especially if it happens when we least expect it.

That’s how life works. It surprises us. It challenges us. We search for certain things until we’re tired and give up. When we totally let go, then booom! Life happens. And we can’t control it. No one can.

Don’t let those motivational posters fool you. You can’t control your life. But you can live it! You can choose to cherish those moments in time when the unexpected happens. When the world seems to stand still along with your soul.

Finding the Perfect Artist for My Book Cover

Today, I’m bursting with excitement as I share an incredible journey I’ve embarked upon in the realm of publishing – the hunt for the perfect artist for my book cover. To be honest, it’s been a real rollercoaster of emotions, setbacks, and, at the end of it all, triumphs.

We all know that the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is a lovely sentiment, but in the real world of publishing, the truth is, well, quite the opposite. Have you ever thought about how the cover of a book can be like a window into the story it holds inside?

It’s all about that first impression, you know? That initial spark that either gets people excited or leaves them uninterested. As a writer, I’ve always thought that my unique voice goes beyond the pages – it’s woven into my books and even on their covers.

Inception

Now, let me take you back to the beginning of this incredible journey. I had a vision for my book cover – a vision that could only be brought to life by an artist who understood my style, my voice, and the essence of my story. A generic cover wouldn’t cut it for me. I wanted an artwork that would encapsulate the very heart and soul of my book.

After browsing through a ton of portfolios and chatting with a bunch of talented artists, I still felt like Goldilocks trying to find the perfect fit.

Plus, I totally hate having artists start working on drafts just for me to reject them because they don’t meet my standards. As a self-published author, I have to be my own editor, but I also know how tough it is to work on something only to have it tossed aside.

So it’s not exactly fun for me to have artists do drafts for nothing. Empathy be damned! I was feeling a bit down and thought maybe settling for a good enough cover was okay.

That’s when, by a stroke of serendipity, I stumbled upon GetCovers. Now, you might be thinking, “Oh, another platform.” So, check it out – this platform is totally different. It’s a place where artists really relate with authors and treat a book cover as more than just a picture. They know it’s the essence of the story.

The project manager is always there to find the right balance between what I need and what the artist wants. So the result is always a masterpiece.

My new book is live with a perfect cover. I’m grateful for the journey that led me to GetCovers and the artist who brought my vision to life.

Conclusion

So, my dear fellow dreamers, remember, the journey to finding the perfect artist might be filled with twists and turns, but when you stumble upon that rare gem, it’s a feeling unlike any other – a feeling that whispers, “This is it. This is the one.” (No Gollum reference at all, no, not my precious)

Also, don’t forget to check my new book on Meganovel, Simon’s Satisfaction System. I hope you’ll like my book. Also, do tell me below in the comments section if you think I’ve found the perfect artist for my book cover.

Wasting Our Time

We overthink the little things, and instead of feeling them, we worry about a future that may never come, wasting our time – the present – which is the only truly important thing. We blind ourselves to the little beautiful things and feelings we have in the now.

In the end, happiness is made up of little things and how much you’re willing to enjoy them, to let yourself feel them.

So, here I am, New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2022, thinking of how I can make you see things differently— a glimpse into the sparkle that each little moment can bring while you’re too busy thinking about tomorrow.

Less Can Be Enough

Imagine a summer heatwave when all you want is a nice refreshing swim. A nice dip is all you can think of. Do you really need to beat yourself up that the ocean is thousands of miles away? A little pond is all you need to enjoy the water and cool yourself down.

And yes, yes, maybe you have the ocean so close that you would laugh at my allegory, but that doesn’t mean I’m not right. Enjoy the little things in life. They really are what truly matters.

New Year’s Resolutions

I rarely ever make New Year’s resolutions because I don’t like the concept of setting impossible goals. Admittedly, when the old year passes and a new year begins, my mind drifts to things I want that would make me happier.

In the liminal space between years, I try to imagine having those things, and there’s a little voice inside my head saying, “You won’t be happy even if you have them.”

Through the years, that pesky voice was right every fucking time. What if I was wrong in wanting things? So, I was convinced this year not to have any resolutions.

Well, funny enough, I’ve just set one just a few hours before the clock strikes midnight. So here it is: by next year’s winter holidays, I want to make a certain someone to experience the joy and excitement of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

It’s the first time I’ve ever set a resolution that doesn’t involve my happiness directly, but I would be a liar saying that achieving this resolution won`t make me happy.

Wasting Our Time?

The only time I ever felt like I was wasting my time was when I was waiting for something to happen. As the years go by, staying focused on the future keeps you from enjoying the present. The present doesn’t last forever. It’s just now. So do what you want to do, say what you want to say, and enjoy the moment.

Being with someone who makes us feel alive and ourselves effortlessly is my definition of happiness. Doing things for the person who makes us happy is what we should do, and it’s not wasting our time. I would say it’s time well spent. Happy New Year to all of you!

Shades of Love

Regardless of how one sees life — colorful, chaotic, simple, confusing, cruel, etc. — it is a fundamental truth that, at its core, life is about love. You could argue with me here, I know, but there are so many shades of love that it is impossible not to love something, even if you love to hate.

Sometimes there are only small things — coffee in the morning, hot chocolate on a cold day, your dog wiggling his tail when you come home — and those things are the most precious aspects of our lives.

Outlines in the Dark

Have you ever walked in the dark, trailing with your fingers on the walls, scared you won’t ever get anywhere, or simply crash or fall? Has the darkness ever made you feel small and forgotten?

Sometimes even in the dark, shades and outlines point you the way. I won’t tell you they show you the safest route or how to escape into the light. Maybe they are just shadows and reflections. Maybe they are just your own thoughts driving you into a bottomless pit of darkness.

Okay, maybe I just went a bit dark myself with this one, but I promise you I’m getting somewhere with this. Maybe. I think so.

The bottom line is this: if we were to compare love and hate with darkness and light, most people would go with the obvious choice — love is light, hate is dark, right? But is it really that simple?

If you look closely, how many times have you done things you regret out of hate? And how many out of love?

Darkness is one of the shades of love. It is the light of the midnight sky, the warmth of a blanket of snow keeping safe the root of a tree from the frost of winter, the tears of joy. This kind of love can be all-consuming and addictive — linger in it for the thrills, just be careful it’s what you really want.

Settle for Less

Let’s make one thing clear from the start: I’m not going to talk here about settling for less than you deserve. The worst thing that can happen is settling for what you think is good enough.

Everyone has a list of things they want in life and from their partner, and the list is not always complete and — let’s be real — is fluid as fuck.

Every time we check the list, tick the important things — better said, what we think is important at that precise moment — and decide if that will be enough. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn`t. And sometimes it is, but it won’t be forever.

Shades of Love

You know how every pro article on a blog ends in a conclusion, right? Well, I have one for you. This section is a trap. There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to love. Everyone has their own feelings and expectations, and never expect one to advise you on what decision you should make. Your future is yours to make, and you’re the only one responsible for it.

If love brings only more darkness in your life, who am I to tell you that light is better? I never lived your life.

If you decide to stop searching for love, that’s your call. Just know that love is still all around you in every little detail that makes you smile.

If you settled, maybe you’re okay with throwing away things you want or need for the sake of love. That’s fine as long as you don’t come to regret it.

I’ll stop ranting for now. Just remember, there are as many shades of love as there are people in this world — we all love and experience happiness differently. There are no right or wrong ways to love— just the right or wrong one for you.

Universal Consensus

Universal Consensus Member (Uni)

The Universal Consensus is an alien species. They have a hive mind and an individual consciousness that others can tap from inside their network. The members of the Universal Consensus are difficult to distinguish because they think alike and have similar appearances.

The road so far

Driven by a thirst for knowledge, our egg-headed scientists strive to advance technologically by any means necessary. One of the Holy Grails for them is finding a Nubilae with enough logical patterns for them to experiment on. Unfortunately, the only such being in existence is Tejeda Hajar. That we know of.

The Universal Consensus is one of the antagonists in The Space Spoon. If they get their hands on our Nubilae, that will be worse than death for him. Possibly because he can’t die. Again, from what we know so far.

In short, Universal Consensus equals bad guys. But they look pretty harmless, right?

After a few appearances, it became tiresome to keep continuing with the whole “Universal Consensus member(s)” syntax, so the narrator decided to call them Unis on its own. Isn’t it a mouthful?

Should we talk about Uni1, their leader? No need for that. Why? For once, he became all weird by saying, “I am the leader. I am the follower. I am everything. I am known as the Universal Consensus.”

Yes, his speech in Chapter 9 is proof that he holds a plethora of titles, almost as many as Daenerys Targaryen. They also have something else in common. They are both dead. Oops, she is still alive in the books. So moving on.

Their L-403 is a powerful weapon for annihilating everything. Did you like how Tejeda shot it straight on in Chapter 15? The deranged main character probably imagined himself to be a cowboy or something. He might still have been there on Uthion under all that radioactive rubble if it weren’t for E00.

What does the future hold?

Even though many Unis perished on Uthion, their plight is not over. This species is thriving, with headquarters and labs on many planets and systems. The real issue is whether their paths will intersect with Tejeda’s again.

I may add that, for now, I am very pleased the Unis didn’t manage to hypnotize Tejeda using their chin lobe. But, alas, no one knows what the future may hold. Not even I, the author. (Evil laughter subsiding into a sad croaking upon realizing I am a mere spectator.)

Oh, and a special thanks to Mosa for the Uni artwork. You can see more of their work at Mooncat Studio. I believe the image brings these fascinating aliens to life. Hmm… Is it acceptable to refer to them as individuals? Who can say?

Also, I thank all of you who read my books and my rants like this one. If I were to read this aloud, it would have been quite a verbal onslaught. Haha!

Do you want the Universal Consensus to make more appearances in the future? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
