Brad Huestis served as an artilleryman and judge advocate, is Airborne and Ranger qualified, and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Tampa, and his debut novel, Ahab: A Hockey Story, earned a bronze medal in literary ﬁction from the Military Writers Society of America. His second novel, TheBig Bad, will be released by Koehler Books on July 22, 2025. Brad splits his time between Weiden, Bavaria, and Tampa, Florida.
