Another Uprising
Oh, right. There's a book of mine coming out in paperback, like, soon. April 18th, actually!
The Risen
! I just got a box of books today. I rather like the way they look. Also, it's nice for this Book Reporter mention to pop up. I'm on there, though you have to scroll down a bit to get to the listing.

UNR MFA and Me!
I'm super pleased to be able to announce that I've accepted a position in the MFA Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. This has been months in the making, with all the many stages of the search process. It took time. Interviews. Visits. But it was all worth it. I really liked everyone I met in the English Department. I had a great visit to Reno and love the location, tucked up against the Sierra Nevada mountain range. That's a terrific thing.And... this a program that's open to genre writers! Sci-Fi. Fantasy. Horror. Crime. Young Adult. You name it. I'm so looking forward to joining the program and helping it to grow.
Looking for a traditional MFA program that's forward-looking? Look no further.
Check out the program HERE.
If you're interested in the program feel free to drop me an email. Let's chat.

Let Tor.com Guide You Through the Wild Cards World
Ever thought about trying George RR Martin's Wild Cards series of collaborative novels, but maybe didn't know where to begin? That's understandable. How about joining the folks at Tor.com who are doing a reread of the entire series? Each book presented and discussed in a lively comments thread. Could be fun, and if the TV series happens you'll be ahead of the curve and in the know.Check it out HERE.

Keynoting Again
Very pleased to be able to announce that I've got my second keynote speaking gig at a conference! This time it's for the Writing the Rockies Conference at Western Colorado University. I'll be flying out there right after the summer residency at Stonecoast in July. Busy times. I'll be delivering the Genre Fiction Keynote. Also doing a three day workshop called "The Long and Winding (and frequently bumpy and terrifying) Path of a Writer". I know a bit about that...
Take a look HERE.

Literary Cats
We have two new kittens. They're horrible. As they're supposed to be. And way too cute. They're inclined toward literary things, apparently, as this photo documents. Two kittens. Spot them both!

Wild Cards World
The Wild Cards Series has a shiny new website. It's lovely, and going to be growing and active and (hopefully) full of awesome news about great things to come. (Things are in the works.) If you click over to it you'll see - among others - one of my characters featured on the covers displayed on the main page! The snaky dude. (At this point I'm obligated to mention that my son was my co-creator of this character, as he always reminds me.) Anyway, check it out!
