Six Sentence Sunday

How about we continue with Claire and Ryan's story!

http://www.amirapress.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=302

Claire Lauder was the girl next door who fell in love with the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Now these ex-lovers find themselves on opposite sides of the law, but Claire soon learns that all is not as it seems. Ryan Wyatt is a man with a dark past who is given a second chance. The price? Betray the man and the organization that took him in when he had nothing. but will forgiveness be harder to earn from the woman he has never stopped loving?

She whimpered. A protest? A plea to continue? Ryan felt her hands slide down his shirt to the leather belt around his waist and tug impatiently. He broke the kiss briefly only to meet her gaze before his eyes drifted down and he held his breath with what felt like inhuman patience as she stopped.

“What would you have done?” Claire whispered, her voice desperate for something, some answer that made what they were about to do okay and not a betrayal of her brother’s memory.

"It matters to me that you understand I would never have let anything happen to Kyle if—”

“Why?” Claire asked, her eyes filling with tears. “Why the hell does it matter?”

“Because,” he whispered, gripping her arms, pressing his forehead to hers, his ragged breath hot against her face. “I can’t bear it that you hate me. I can’t bear it anymore, Claire.”

He feigned a smile and reached across the table for her hand, then gripped her fingers tightly before she could snatch them back.
“Is he the one you want?” he asked. “The old Ryan? Maybe with the right incentive, I could be persuaded to bring him back. What do you say, Claire?” He brought her hand to his mouth and pressed his lips against the soft skin, willing the old Ryan to stay back, the old Ryan who wanted to grab her and wrap himself around her and just gorge himself on her until everything but the beauty of how they had been flared between them again.

Six Sentence Sunday

I got back the rights on a few of my books including Four Winds Of Heaven so I'm going to be resubmitting that one to a new publisher soon. I figured I'd switch things up until Four Winds finds a new home and instead share a snippet from my contemporary erotic novella Shades Of Grey. This one is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Hmm...wonder why.... (grin) Hope you enjoy!

She’d known that look well. She’d seen him cultivate it out of necessity as a teenager. While other boys’ goals involved getting the hottest girls to notice them, throwing the game-winning touchdown, and mastering just enough of academics to get into a decent school, Ryan Wyatt wanted only to not feel, to be so cold, so strong that nothing could ever hurt him.

So instead, he hurt others. Claire stared at him now, seeing nothing of the shy, gentle boy she had grown up with. He’d been successful in his goal.

Today I'd like to introduce you to the hero and heroine of my WW2 historical erotic romance The Arrangement, Freidrich Weiss and Elsa Mostek.

Freidrich is our hero. On the surface, he is an officer in Hitler's army and when we first meet him he is on patrol in the Warsaw ghetto when he meets our heroine Elsa. He is the son of German-Italian parents who both died in the first war. He is a proud German, eager to return his country to its former glory and so he joins the Hitler Youth as a boy. He marries a German woman, Anna, whose father has important military connections but by the time Friedrich is promoted to an SS guard and transferred to Auschwitz, he has become disillusioned with the Nazi regime. He, and many other officers, realize that their dream for Germany will never be realized under Hitler's regime and they join forces with those in the Resistance to overthrow the dictator. Friedrich straddles a very fine line as he inhabits the monstrous world he must to help the resistance and it's taking a toll on both him and his now loveless marriage when he once again encounters our heroine Elsa who offers him herself in exchange for his protection. This is an offer the young, handsome guard has received often in the camp. However, he abhors the way his fellow SS guards take advantage of the female prisoners. He has never been tempted to make such arrangements. With Elsa, for the first time, Friedrich is tempted.
Elsa is our heroine. When we meet her, she has been living in the Warsaw ghetto with her sister, older brother and parents along with another Jewish family in a two room apartment. She first encounters our hero Freidrich when a fellow SS guard tries to accost her and Friedrich manages to stop him. She has the same dreams as her Jewish girlfriends, to complete her schooling, find a nice Jewish boy, marry and raise Jewish children of good, moral character. Then the Nazis invade Poland. All her dreams of a peaceful, loving future are crushed under Hitler's might and when Elsa and her family are split up and transferred to the Auschwitz concentration camp, she realizes her nightmare is only beginning. Elsa and those she loves are tortured and starved. Her world is now one of constant chaos and desperation and this is never made more clear than when her little sister is taken by a female SS guard, Maria Mandel who likes to 'adopt' children from the camp to abuse. Elsa is aware that the guards like to violate many of the female prisoners and that some of those prisoners have managed to make arrangements with some guards in exchange for extra food, protection etc. The other women quickly turn on those who make these kinds of arrangements. Elsa knows what she is risking when she makes such an offer to a certain guard who seems to go out of his way to keep her from harm in many little ways, SS Officer Friedrich Weiss. She doesn't expect that when he accepts, it will open the door to the greatest agony and ecstasy Elsa has ever known.

Don't forget to comment here for a chance to win a copy of The Arrangement, I'll be picking a winner Monday night! Then head over to the Rebel link at the top and check out the other participating authors and grab your chance to win $25 in free Rebel books!

Six Sentence Sunday

I bring you another peek at my paranormal romance Four Winds Of Heaven. Hope you guys enjoy!

Could the actions of a few brave souls have saved us all? Emily, Laura, Brian and Nick are brought together in 1999 by a series of supernatural phenomena. Then they learn that, in 1917, three children in the Portuguese town of Fatima prophesied that, at the end of the millennium, four people would have to face Satan in an apocalyptic battle. At a time when many people are questioning religion and its place in the world, Four Winds of Heaven offers a new slant on what we believe we know about good and evil and our abilities to face both within ourselves. http://www.sugarnspicepress.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=82

He‟d been curious to see who would have the balls to go up against the formidable James Cooper, but now that he saw the man, he couldn‟t help roll his eyes. The guy sitting across from him was a shrimp, a poster boy for the Generation X yuppie. Suit and tie. Nick stared daggers at him, annoyed this pansy had the nerve to invade his sanctuary. Even though he protested being here, the rehab clinic had given him the only moments of peace he had known since his mother died, and he resented being forced to remember that a world existed outside these safe walls. Still, he wanted a look at the great and powerful giant who was going to take on his dad.

“Sit down.” Emily took her friend's hand and led her to the front pew.
“Nobody ever gives you bad news standing up.”
“I woke up under the statue,” she explained.
Laura looked at her friend, then up at the weeping statue of the Madonna. “That statue?” she asked, pointing.

Emily stared back up at the statue. No, nothing like her dream. There had been a vitality in the eyes of the woman in her dream that no artist could possibly capture. A knowledge born not only of the love the will of
God had brought her, but of the pain and cruelty that will had burned into Mary‟s soul. A duality she had never seen in any painting. In her dream Mary had been a woman sharing hope and knowledge, not a saint spreading fortune-cookie wisdom.

The pointer slid around slowly and spelled out, “Don‟t be afraid.”

“Okay, that‟s not the best thing to say right now,” Laura pointed out with a shudder.

“If you‟re going to do something, please don‟t,” Emily pleaded.

“No,” it assured them. “When he asks, don‟t be afraid.” It abruptly shot down to “Goodbye.”

It was the collar she had seen out of the corner of her eye. It shouldn‟t bother her, she insisted silently. She was Catholic and had been around priests for most of her life. But it did. The admission unnerved her. Why?
