Silly Daddy Skater in the Half Shell

Silly Daddy Skater in the Half Shell comic by Joe Chiappetta

Webcomic is a photo comic by Joe Chiappetta 2016, created on Samsung Smartphone and edited on Acer Desktop Windows Computer in Paint.net software.

A tiny turtle stretches out on his toy-sized skateboard, ready to do some tricks, while pondering; "Mom won't let me skate without a helmet. Does body armor count?"

Despite the fact that the main character here is a two inch turtle, this comic has all sorts of autobiographical overlap. My youngest daughter finally convinced me to get her some pet...

Silly Daddy: Great Communicator

Silly Daddy - Great Communicator comic by Joe Chiappetta

The Italian husband asks his wife, "Do you want me to go by the guy to get the thing for the stuff at the place?"

In a remarkable response of comprehension, his wife replies, "Sure."

I am amazed that my Mom completely understood what her husband was saying. Such conversations are quite common in my family. And I find myself communicating in this manner more and more. Should I be concerned?

This Silly Daddy comic is a digital drawing on Microsoft Surface computer drawn with Fresh Paint softwa...

No Throwing Things - Repeat After Me

Silly Daddy Comics by Joe Chiappetta - No Throwing Things version 3

Every few years I edit this comic because it is one of my favorites. I originally revised this comic from its original version because I had put it on a full color business card and wanted to spice the cartoon up just a bit. I ended up spending way more time adding artistic detail to it than I originally intended so I thought it would be nice to post the multiple versions together as a comparison. Can you spot all the cartoon art differences between the new version above and the old versions...

Silly Daddy Politics in the Post Democracy

Silly Daddy Politics in the Post Democracy comic panel 1 by Joe Chiappetta

Silly Daddy Politics in the Post Democracy comic panel 2 by Joe Chiappetta

This election day comic was drawn by Joe Chiappetta on Samsung Note 3 phone in SketchBook program. Yes, from time to time I draw comics on a phone... it's a free country, I think.

With all his ranting might, an extra-intense man declares "Citizens vote, yet nothing changes! That's post democracy. Beware!" warns this scruffy, irate activist from atop an urban ledge. "We are living in a post democracy!"

Unable to avoid hearing such alarmist commentary on an otherwise pleasant election day, a n...

Silly Daddy Waiting on the Cubs Comic

Silly Daddy Waiting on the Cubs Comic by Joe Chiappetta

Here is a championship Chicago Cubs comic for the whole family. After the Cubs won game 7 in extra innings against the Cleveland Indians, a father stands outside an excited Wrigley Field crowd and asks his little child "Can you believe the Cubs won the World Series?"

With all sincerity, the toddler replies "I know; I've been waiting for this my whole life!"

A special thanks goes to my older sister Kelly for giving me a related idea that led to this Cubs cartoon.

Comic is an ink brush drawing...

Silly Daddy at The Pure Pumpkin Patch

Pure Pumpkin Patch panel 1 - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
Pure Pumpkin Patch panel 2 - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta

This is a a poetic, experimental, and seasonal comic of a timeless autumn incident that happened many years ago. My wife and son sat on hay bales at the local pumpkin patch. The cool dry air was quiet and peaceful as I thanked God for my family.

Suddenly, a few loud teenagers dressed in scary Halloween costumes ran by. Their appearance somewhat disturbed my little son. Kids can be so pure-hearted.

This occurrence reminded me of Jesus' words from Matthew 5:8. "Blessed are the pure in heart,...

Jesus telling the people I am the way - comic illustration by Joe Chiappetta A Masterful Insight into Jesus' World Vision

A book review of The Master Plan of Evangelism[image error]by Robert E. Coleman, published 1963

Reviewed by Joe Chiappetta, 2016

In the hit song "Change the World," by Eric Clapton, the singer/songwriter touches upon a universal topic; "If I could change the world." The more you experience, the more you observe that everybody wants change the world. Politicians consistently run on the platform of change. Talk of change can be found everywhere that there are lis...

Mercy Triumphs Over Judgment

Comic illustration of the biblical concept that mercy triumphs over judgment - by Joe Chiappetta

My youngest daughter helped we with the idea for this drawing. It was her idea to put the bird on the fist. This is a comic illustration of the biblical concept that "Mercy triumphs over judgment," from James 2:13. The theme of mercy, which is essentially compassion in action, has been a recurring topic in many of my books for the past few decades. It is one of those essential characteristics that we all need to receive and to give.

In fact, we crave to be treated with compassion. But how of...
