This year's Annual General Meeting of the Charitable Irish Society of Halifax will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 6:30 pm. I am delighted to be part of the event and will be presenting a brief discussion of my books Chief O'Neill and Poor Farm and how they relate to the immigrant experience and Irish culture. The Charitable Irish was founded in 1786 and has made many contributions to the lives of Irish-Canadians and the larger community of Halifax down through the centuries.
