The long-awaited return of the Green Hornet and Kato and their rolling arsenal the Black Beauty!
Back again with all-new stories!
Moonstone is proud to present The Green Hornet Casefiles, our second anthology featuring all-new, original crime fiction tales of the man who hunts the biggest of all game, public enemies that even the FBI can’t reach!
It’s the mid 1960’s, the political climate is shaky, there’s civil unrest, freedom and equality issues erupt everywhere from film to music to out in the streets.
On police records, the Green Hornet is actually a wanted criminal, a master manipulator, a crime boss who has his fingers in every pie. In reality, The Green Hornet is actually Britt Reid, owner-publisher of the Daily Sentinel. Alongside him rides his partner Kato, who is not only is a martial artist of unsurpassed prowess, but a skilled driver, and educated engineer as well. Their goal is to destroy crime from within by posing as criminals themselves!
Bobby's story is called A Thing Of Beauty. Sanford Biggs is a collector of the rarest items. After seeing The Green Hornet and Kato in action, he spots the next rare gem for his collection. He wants The Black Beauty and will do anything to possess it.
Available in softcover, hardcover, and ebook editions.

Airship 27 Productions dons its tough-guy mantle, as it premiers its newest pulp star in THE RUBY FILES.
It was the 1930s and America was locked in the grip of the Great Depression. Gangsters controlled the major cities while outlaws roamed the rural back country. It was a time of Speak Easy gin-joints, Tommy-guns, fast cars and even faster dames. This is the world of New York based Private Investigator Rick Ruby, a world he is all too familiar with. From the back alleys of Gotham to the gold laden boulevards of Hollywood, Ruby is the shamus with a nose for trouble and an insatiable appetite for justice. So if you’ve got a taste for hot lead and knuckle sandwiches, tug your cuffs, adjust your fedora and light up a Lucky, a brand new pulp detective is coming your way.
Created by pulp masters, Bobby Nash & Sean Taylor, Rick Ruby echoes the tales of Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe while offering up his own brand of two-fisted action. Joined by fellow pulp smiths Andrew Salmon & William Patrick Maynard, these modern scribes of purple prose present a quartet of tales to delight any true lover of private eye fiction. This instant classic features a gorgeous Mark Wheatley cover and eight evocative black and white illustrations by Rob Moran.
This is a book that harkens back to the classic black and white Warner Brothers gangster movies that featured James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson to name a few. The atmosphere is gritty with a no-nonsense hero pulp fans are going to applaud from the first story to the last. And when that last tale comes to a close, you can bet we haven’t seen the last of Rick Ruby, Private Eye.
Bobby’s story is called “ The Case of the Wayward Brother ”
On the surface, the case seemed simple enough. All Rick Ruby had to do was track down the runaway brother of the sexy socialite from California then collect his fee. Of course, in Rick Ruby’s world, even the simplest case is never that simple.

Anybody (and everybody) who was collecting comics back in the 1990’s remember Big Bang Comics, right? You probably last saw them appearing in titles from Image, as a line of classically-inspired superheroes (and heroines) lovingly echoing the comic book approaches of the 1940’s, ’50’s, ’60’s and beyond. Sound familiar? Yeah, in a lot of ways, Big Bang shared the same kind of sensibilities that make AC Comics unique in today’s market- but THEY did it in their own, distinctive way; featuring characters like The KNIGHT WATCHMAN, THUNDER GIRL, The ATOMIC SUB, The BLITZ, and dozens more. Big Bang is the brainchild of Gary Carlson and Chris Ecker, two comic book creative fanatics who have themselves decades of experience in the field, great storytellers both. The “AC Comics family” goes ‘way back with the Big Bang crew. Mark Heike met Chris back in 1978 doing fanzines, Stephanie Heike got up with Gary (back in the days when she was still Stephanie Sanderson) in the 1990’s when she penciled a number of stories for Big Bang Comics , and Mark got to know Gary himself in the late 1990’s when Mr. Carlson was writing the TMNT book for Image, and Heike was inking it as a freelance gig. Well, Gary and Chris had a pretty good run with Big Bang; first at Caliber Comics, and some years at Image, until finally Big Bang got lost in the shuffle a few years ago- gone, but NOT forgotten.
AC has gotten back into contact with Gary and Chris with a plan to bring back Big Bang through AC in 2015, and in April it all starts with Big Bang Universe #1- 80 pages of unpublished, never-before-seen adventures starring that BB fan- favorite The KNIGHT WATCHMAN in a 48-page mini-graphic novel titled “Skeletons In The Closet”, written by Gary Carlson himself, with art by Kerry Talbott in a tour-du-force pitting the ‘WATCHMAN against Hal Owen in a story (and style) startlingly contemporary in tone.
The ‘WATCHMAN’s partner in crimefighting will be in evidence too, as GALAHAD crosses paths with SHUTTERBUG in a solo story titled “Lady In Waiting”, by Gary Carlson and C. B. Burk that introduces a NEW GALAHAD !!
Then, the female member of the KNIGHT WATCHMAN cast, WATCH GIRL gets center stage in Knight Watchman Adventures, written by Bobby Nash with art by Jeff Austin. That alone may get AC regular fans excited, since Jeff Austin has been a regular illustrator on FEMFORCE for something like about TWELVE YEARS now!! It just so happens that Jeff had ALSO been an artist in the Big Bang stable.

If you want to be certain of getting the LADY IN WAITING painted cover variant, be sure that your local retailer orders enough copies of this issue- and keep in mind that ordering through Diamond is the ONLY way to receive this variant. If you want to catch up on all things Big Bang before then, be sure to check out their website at www.bigbangcomics.com.

BOBBY HEADS TO ANGELTOWN! GARY PHILLIPS' HOLLIS P.I. NOW AVAILABLE!

This is a little more adult than my usual fare with amped up language, sex, and violence. It was fun to visit the hard-boiled side of the street. I’ll definitely have to visit again.
I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.
Bobby
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-
COMIC PRIVATE EYE LEAPS TO PROSE IN NEW COLLECTION!
“GARY PHILLIPS’ HOLLIS P.I.” DEBUTS FROM PRO SE PRODUCTIONS

“I couldn’t be more pleased that Hollis returns in prose from Pro Se Productions,” Phillips said. “Readers are in for some hardboiled thrills as we put the redoubtable private eye through his paces -- from a ritual killing, the hunt for long-hidden swag, attack dogs in the dark, to the machinations of crooked politicians…tough guys and tougher women.”

“PI Nate Hollis,” says T. Jefferson Parker, author of The Famous and the Dead, “originally sprang from the rich imagination of LA-based writer Gary Phillips, but he’s so real and tactile he could climb off the page and buy you a bourbon. Now, four other authors are getting a piece of Nate, too, and this latest collection of Nate stories is wonderful. This is contemporary noir at its best, offering all the familiar pleasures of the genre, but giving them a modern makeover. Yes, this is a violent world that Nate inhabits, but he steers a true and moral course through the layers of deception, skullduggery and sometimes worse that make these stories such high-density entertainment. Nate’s a great character and these stories do him justice and more. “
