Brisbane Wizz Fizz Launch
I'm launching 'Wizz Fizz' at Avid Reader, Boundary St, West End, Brisbane, at 5.30pm, Friday the 17th of June, 2022.
I'll do an 'In-Conversation' with Doctor Karen Thurecht, Medical Anthropologist, and author of 'Murder at the Dunwich Asylum'. Karen and I met at the Sisters In Crime writers' group, where we discuss how we place feminist politics in to fictional narratives.
Wine and hot drinks are available, and entry is free.

Wizz Fizz cover art done
Amid Covid chaos, I'm glad to get "Wizz Fizz" one step closer to publication. Veronica Curties-Chen finished the cover art, so I've uploaded it as my new profile picture, and as a photo file on my profile.
The cover depicts Mirella Castle, the Investigator, and her friends Shayna and Wanda the Blonder, performing as 'The Exslaves'.
Previous covers have depicted Elyse Forsyth, the Producer of 'The Beast Parade', and her makeup artist friend Crimson, from "Blocked Out". The cover of "Kandy Krush" depicted Kandy McRobertson, Mirella's housemate and well known techno musician.

Town Criers Video
I had a terrific three days with the Australian Guild of Town Criers, for the national championships in Wyong NSW, on the 26th of March 2022. I made a short (2 minute) video of the 13 competing Criers, from around Australia.
Youtube automatically made me a new channel as Mandy Partridge, as I've married and changed my name since I set up Mandarella's channel.
I also started grouping Town Crier videos together, including many Criers from around the world.

National Town Crier Championships
As well as being a writer, I am the official Brisbane Town Crier. This week, I'll be driving 822 km south to Wyong, New South Wales for the annual (except for Covid) Town Crier competition.
This Championships has actually been postponed from 2020 and 2021, when our borders closed down due to the pandemic.
Members of the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Australian Town Criers from all around will gather and compete for best Crier, loudest Crier and most flamboyant Crier. I hope I've got a chance in at least one category.
We will do a school visit, and a downtown appearance in Wyong central to cry the wares of the local shops. This is an ancient town crier tradition, and we love to meet and greet tourists too.
I'm looking forward to meeting all my town crier friends from around Australia. I've added a photo of myself in Town Crier regalia. Hear Ye! Oyez!

Xmas in the Share-house
Happy to be published at Every Writer's Resource, which is a big American website which lists publishers and literary magazines.
The editor chose a lovely picture of the Story Bridge, the icon of my home city of Brisbane, lit up in Christmas colours.

Wizz Fizz draft 1 done.
Yesterday I got to 84 000 words on 'Wizz Fizz: Mirella Castle Investigates.' I felt like I had tied up all the loose ends, and though the story arc didn't go where I first intended, it still went somewhere.
Now, I'm looking for Beta Readers, who would like to read the draft docx document, and give any feedback you might have.
In this book, Mirella graduates from uni and studies for her Investigator's licence. She continues to work for Officer Marlin, but gets paid this time. Steen and the bikers also employ Mirella to sort out the finances and work practices at their club, the Pole Planet.
How will Mirella recognise the Wizz, if it's been disguised? Can the handsome guys from the Fizz help? Mirella and her two friends form a burlesque troupe to infiltrate a Gentlemen's Club, and try not to get famous. Wanda has been recruited to perform with the Beast Parade, for the enigmatic Elise Forsyth. With the pandemic under control, the Beast Parade will work at Modifyre and Earth Frequency parties, and film the results. Shayna got a job as a Social Worker, and develops her psychic skills with the Rosicrucians.
On the personal side, Mirella seeks to exhume Grandma Nevada's body, and have genetic testing, but this also leads to a mystery which needs solving.
