New Release Dance

Release day for Book 2 in the Elements Series is coming up quick. July 31st The Activator releases. I got a review copy in the mail yesterday and contemplated doing one of those box opening video's but since I was in my PJs with no makeup, I decided instead to just do my own happy dance....which I also did not film.

With The Activator releasing July 31st I want to show you a little more about the book that started it all...here is an excerpt from The Keystone.

"One of the best ways to avoid being picked up by the authorities is to just disappear. You sneak out, drop false trails, and double back, and when you are sure no one is following you, you swap out the plates on your vehicle. Then, pull out a map, and with no rhyme or reason, pick a new town to call home.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

welcome 2023

Really, I'm so glad it is 2023. I was really over 2022 by the end of October and it just sort of dragged along after that. But I've exciting plans for this year, it's going to be an amazing adventure!

Happy Fall? Yep, it's fall!

Wow, summer flew by! I spent time with family, enjoyed a beach vacation, and read a lot a lot a lot of books. I hope you've enjoyed a break this summer and been able to make a dent in your TBR list.

Plans are on track to release The Keystone (Book 1 in the Elements Series) wide in a couple of weeks and it's going to look fantastic!

The Activator (Book 2 in the Elements Series) will go on pre-order soon after The Keystone goes wide...I'll let you know when it happens.

Have you ever gotten lost?

In The Keystone there is a chapter where Grace's father is kidnapped, and she is following a guy she just met that might know what is going on... and then she loses him.

There is a crowd of people. She is being chased. Someone plows into her and knocks her down.

As she lay on the hard concrete floor, the world spinning around her, I realized as an author that I had tapped into multiple fears that I've had in the past. Maybe you have experienced one of these:
- the fear of losing someone we love
- the fear of being alone
- the fear of being chased
- the fear of something you need being just out of reach
- the fear of missing out (FOMO, my personal favorite, not!)

A scene that taps into so much internal turmoil should be easy to write —it's not. Tapping into personal fears is an excellent way to share and connect with you, the reader.

But the message I really hope comes through is that a lot of people face these fears. And, if you are experiencing one of these now, you are not alone.

A sneak peak into the research for book 2...

A reader asked me:  "Will the characters from The Keystone be in any future books?"

The answer is YES!!! I'm super excited to be working on Book 2 "The Activator." I was just at the beach researching a chapter and I thought you might enjoy a photo from that trip. 

I'm not revealing the storyline at this time, but I will say that if you loved the fast-paced action of The Keystone, then you are going to lose your mind in The Activator as Grace and Shim go off world......

Did I mention the paperbacks were out? I did? Okay, but wanted you to know because I'm pretty excited about it. You want to know another thing I'm excited about?
