[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "ImmortaLily Rise" by GE Beyers & JW Collins.]

4 out of 4 stars

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about this book, but it exceeded my expectations and took me by surprise. ImmortaLily Rise by GE Beyers & JW Collins is an urban fantasy filled with supernatural elements like vampires, werewolves, wolflings, and witches.

Lily Du Plessis is seventeen years old and lives in England with her Uncle Noah. Her life has always been different from the other kids of her age, and now, she has to undergo an unexpected and drastic change. She is the daughter of a vampire and a witch, making her a rare child born to fulfill a prophecy. Turning eighteen years old will kick in her immortality, but until then, she has to be kept protected and safe. Her life turns upside down when her Uncle is murdered. She is guarded and taken to New Orleans by wolflings, who worked under her Uncle. Coming to the US reveals many secrets that shake her life. But she is not safe yet; rival vampires and werewolves are after her, along with a much fatal threat to her life. Will Lily be able to survive her eighteenth birthday? What secrets do her future hold? Will her supernatural existence be a boon or a bane?

Along with the supernatural elements, the book also has a little bit of romance. Lily is a teenager, so she has teenage stuff to deal with, like friendship, enmity, and love. The book is captivating from the very first page. The character of Lily is admirable. She is strong, bold, and fierce. The rest of the characters are equally great.

The best thing about the book is its concept. Being a fan of The Vampire Diaries and Twilight myself, I fell in love with the story. Moreover, the twists and suspense never failed me. I could easily imagine the action happening in the book. The writing is so vivid and gives scope to a lot of imagination. And honestly, there is nothing about the book I did not like.

The book is professionally edited, as there are only a few errors in the book. Also, there are several instances of profanity. The language of the story is simple yet enjoyable. I won’t be adding spoilers, but one part of the story is described with such emotions; I had tears in my eyes while imagining everything going on; I guess the readers will know once they read it. I am going to read the sequel for sure.

I would strictly recommend this to fans of supernatural fiction, especially The Vampire Diaries or Twilight. Fantasy lovers should also go for it. The story is laced with magic and romance, so readers looking for a supernatural romance read can also read this book.

On the whole, I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars read. I love the plot of the book, and Lily’s character is worth admiring as well. The story also teaches a great deal about family and friendship. The flow and pace of the story are also ideal. Hence, the perfect rating. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.
