Haley BCU's Blog

June 2, 2021

Begin.

Summer of 2016. Bored as hell. A Sunday.

I was trapped within the glass and particle-board box known as "The Piercing Pagoda" doing anything to entertain myself.

During the prior shift, I'd simultaneously been scolded for having my phone out while being gifted a blank notebook. Nothing on my hands but paper, pens, and time.

Pressing my red Bic Crystal Round Stic to the green-lined paper, I aged myself down ten years, and wrote what I knew;

"I hate gym class."

I thought I was killing time.

Instead? I saved myself.

I don't post about it often, but I'll have three years alcohol-free this December. Without this story? I wouldn't have anything.

I literally wouldn't be here.

Love Always,
Haley BCU

between family members, friends, or lovers;
but all stories, every story ever told,
is a God damned love story."

Kindle Top 250 for Dark Humor? Let's Make it Top 100!

Order The Paperback Now - Click Here! [image error]

This is a call to action, my dudes, dudettes, and otherworldly beautiful humans; Four Letter Words Act One the Paperback debuted this week, and is currently ranked at #211 on the Amazon Paperback Bestseller List for Dark Humor! If you've been so graciously considering picking up a copy of my first novel, today is the day to turn that cheddar into a paperback book delivered straight to your damn door! Free shipping is worth it's weight in bitcoin these days, especially when your book is just shy of two friggin' pounds!

Breaking into the Top #100 for my debut novel would send me to the grave with a wicked grin plastered across my occasionally vulgar mouth. It'll also be a lovely title to slap on all my future titles, so people picking me out of a pile will know I Mean Something. So, if you've enjoyed my in-person stories or antics, or laughed your ass of (or perhaps got stuck in a soup of existential malaise?) after one of my anecdotes - today is your lucky fuckin' day. The eBook is (and will always be) available for purchase at a steep "digital discount," if you'd like to save a tree while carrying a weightless digital copy for those of us (like yours truly) who have digits riddled with maladies.

It's not from hours of hand-writing, followed by typing this almost 600-page novel. I swear.

If links are befuddling and you just want the damn book, go ahead and type "Four Letter Words Act One" into your Amazon Shopping App. Thank you genuinely for listening and supporting me. Life is a perpetual challenge, adventure, and trial: all rolled up into one beautiful, incomprehensible package. If you ask me what this book is about? That. Life. Hell. Pain. Hope. All my favorite Four Letter Words.

I'll be climbing down off my soapbox now.
