September Sale Coming to a Close!

Hey everyone!

It's been a couple weeks and I wanted to touch base and let everyone know that I have been working on Kalijor quite diligently.

I've put down nearly 10,000 words since last we spoke, and the Fourth Key is well over 300 pages. Obviously, the Ovtober 1 finish date is not going to happen, but I am working on freeing my time up from some other projects so I can focus (almost) entirely on the novel. I still want to finish it in October, hopefully by the end of the second week, but we'll see how it goes. Muses can be fickle at times.

I'll keep you informed!

On teh RPG front. The artwork has been assigned to our amazing cover artist, and we may also have a few pieces from a previously unpublished artist who does amazing creature and equipment artwork, as well as amazing anime-style people and action scenes. I'm really excited at the prospect, and anxiously awaiting news on teh RPG rules license.

Lastly, all of teh September sales on the First Key of Kalijor are ending tonight, so if you want to get a copy on your eReader, or you know someone else who would like one, act now!

All of the Kalijor books are available on Kindle, Nook, and iBooks, stores, as well as all major online booksellers, and you local brick and mortar stores as well.. Also, you can get them from our own online shop, or you can email me directly if you'd like to arrange for the purchase of a signed/personalized copy!

Okay, I think that's about it for now. I am going to finish up this clothing commission tonight and get it all packed up to ship out Monday, then my attention is entirely on the next novel until it is done and ready for editing/revision!

So, on that note, I will talk to you all later!

End of Line…

We're not dead!

We just play dead people on TV….

So, things are still moving along, although much of said movement is behind the scenes and below deck, so it isn't likely to be seen by the average on-looker.

I've been slowly working through the Kalijor Wiki, beefing things up and reformatting entries. I've gone through all of the people and vehicles and completely reformatted them. Working on cross-linking, some editing, and the additions of little bits here and there.

The past couple day's I've been focusing on the article about the future of humanity and have been building out a rough timeline of happenings from today, through the year 3040 when the story truly begins. More to do, but much is being done.

Also, the Fourth Key is coming along more slowly than I would like. But it is still coming along. It's approaching 80,000 words now, but there is still a lot to do before this one is over. I think it could be a large book, even with all of the new formatting we've adopted for the books going forward.

I had a great meeting with my book artist last weekend, and assigned art for the RPG book. So as soon as we get the okay to proceed on that, we will already have the wheels spinning and just need to put them on the ground. I doubt the book will be out for the holidays this year, but we should be able to make our first con appearance of 2012 (GalaxyFest in Colorado Springs) with the brand new RPG book in hand! Barring any unforeseen circumstances, of course.

I think that's about it here for now.

Also, just a reminder that the First Key of Kalijor is on sale through the end of September on all major eReader devices/stores. Get your copy now while it's still only $0.99! At that price, it could make an excellent gift for someone who loves to read and is looking for some fresh new science fiction!

Okay, I think that's actually it now. Going to work. :)

End of Line…

Sale on eCopies of The First Key of Kalijor

So, to celebrate Thursday, I decided to put the First Key on sale, on all available eBook formats we currently support, through the end of September.

So, until the end of September 30th, you can star your journey through Kalijor for only $0.99 (or whatever the equivalent is in your area/currency)!

So, get your copy today on:

iBooks

Kindle

Nook

And tell your friend's and family about the sale as well. It's a perfect time to get new readers interested.

On another note, I wrote 5,000+ words today. Nearly at 70k in the Fourth Key now, and still going strong!

I am also going through the RPG book and building a list for art assignments. Still no official word on the license yet, but I want to be ready to jump into action the moment the deal is signed. If at all possible, we will have a Kalijor RPG book in print for the holidays. Worst case, it will be Galaxy Fest in February.

Lastly, we have 35 'likes' on FaceBook. 15 more and two people will get one free digital edition of the Kalijor novel of their choice, in the format of their choice. That's one to a random fan in that first 50, and one to the person who referred them to the page!

Okay, I think that's about it for now. Time for bed here, so I'll talk to y'all later. Have an awesome day/night/weekend. :)

20% off physical books this month!

Heyas everybody!

Things continue to progress, but in the interim I have a bonus for you all!

Head to my storefront and buy a book (or two or three) and enter the coupon code SEPTEMBER305 to get 20% off your order.

Put down another 21 pages today so that's still moving along.

No new news on the RPG yet, but should be soon, so stay tuned. With any luck, we can hit StarFest next year with a new novel and a new RPG book. :)

I think that's about it for now, aside from continuing work on the site and the wiki.

Okay. Have a great day all!

Good news today! Still some work to be done…

I just received some amazing news concerning the Kalijor RPG!

I shouldn't say more just yet, as there is still work to be done, but I feel safe in saying that we are moving in the right direction and could have more news fairly soon.

In other news, the Fourth Key is up around 220 pages (60,000 words) now, and still flowing. No idea how we're doing for an October 1st finish, but I remain very hopeful.

The web site is continuing to evolve. We just added a Google +1 button, and we're looking at an enhancement or two to the wiki so we can start adding spoiler info, but keep it covered up for those who don't want things spoiled whilst they browse.

I think that's about it for now. I'll update again soon.

End of line…

Still a ways off…

From finishing the Fourth Key.

Still, I managed twenty pages this weekend before in had to take a break. I had to fight through a couple sections, and it didn't help that inkept putting movies on, instead of music, while I worked.

But that's nearly 10k words. Which isn't bad for a weekend, even with all the video distraction…

That said, I think I've hit a good stride in the plot and words should be flowing here for the forseeable future. I hope to get the first draft 'in the can' by the end of September. If I can, then there is a real possibility of getting the new book in print for StarFest 2012. We'll see how it goes.

Next up, the site!

I've started editing entries on the wiki, whilst Mike works on the main page (mostly. I'm sure he's working on the wiki too). He's added sales links and cover art to all of the book pages, and a sign-up spot to get on the Kalijor news letter. Lots of other, under the hood, things have gone in as well, and I think it's all starting to add up to awesome! Good thing there's no charge for awesome….

On a personal note, I often say that I try to judge each piece of media on its own merits, rather than compare them to other things. This has led me to an ability to enjoy just about any kind of 'horrible' movie or book, etc.

To that end, one of the movies I watched this weekend, while I should have been writing, was Battlefield Earth.

All I can really say is wow. I think that may be the single worst movie I've ever willingly subjected myself to. It was riddled with plot holes, fraught with poor acting and even worse dialogue, and did a terrible job at every sub-plot and sub-text they tried to force into it. What a dirge. If you ever have the chance to see it, I highly recommend… That you go get the root canal taken care of. Or go slam your head in the door of a '57 Chevy or anything else that could be considered less painful.

Okay, that's about it. Thanks for listening, and I'll talk at y'all later!

End of line…

Things keep moving ahead

So, last night we added a couple new galleries (one for fan art, and one for some pics of Selene cos-playing Riana at the 2010 StarFest convention), and cleaned up a few links and things. Also, I went through and added character images, a map of Kalijor, and a fun group pic to the wiki/encyclopedia.

In that same vein, I have begun adding ~new~ entries to the wiki as well, beginning with a couple of places. This is where my energy will likely be focused for a while ahead… cleaning up and building out the wiki. Any fans out there are more than welcome to join in, as there is lots to do there!

Either way, the forums have been built out a bit and stand ready to receive your comments/thoughts, and we are building out the sales links and book pages on the main site. After that, there is some more streamlining to do, and then the wiki and general enhancements will be the focus of our activity.

In writing news, I am almost 200 pages into the 4th key now, and things are starting to really move on their own, so that is very good. I have set a goal for myself to finish writing it by the end of September, so I can get it through its first major editing pass by the end of October. If we can hold that schedule, then the 4th novel stands a very real chance of being in readers' hands by StarFest (April) of 2012!

Here's hoping!

That said, I am going back to work, so I will talk to you all later. :)
