Just a broken man with a shattered scarred child curled up inside the dark corners of his mind, hidden from what’s expected of him. Who knew a crown could be so heavy? Or perhaps it’s just that sin becomes a burden when the soul is witnessed to light. Only there are some scars that don’t mend so easily, especially when life is balanced by suffering. Well, unless you’re mated to the one who can heal, and also destroy. Yet, even that comes with a cost.

Just a girl from the garden, an innocent meant to do some ancient gods bidding, forced to bear the burden of what came before. It isn’t nearly fair, but those who are chosen rarely have a choice. We can only hope that when everything is demanded of her, that in the end something will remain.

Book two teaser (The Dark Crown)
In the depths of the void, the ones that came before released a soul into the stream of infinity, and watched the world rewrite itself. “Ole Divine One, let us see what lies within. Show us the debt that shall be paid.” The voices spoke into the soul, as the river began to ripple with light so ancient and holy, that even those of worth were blinded by it. The air around them thickened, as smoke rose from the now burning waters.
“Ah, such greatness and power will be gifted upon you. Such purpose, and promise will exceed you even in your demise. Oh, but the gods are watching, they see what cannot be seen, see what has been, what is, and what will be. Great wonders will become of you, life will be created just as we created it. Chosen from the debts of memory, foreshadow, and purpose, you will be great. But even a chosen god cannot stand without falter, for you aren’t the first and you certainly won’t be the last. History will repeat itself, because man of make and beings of the old gods are selfish and will take and take. And because of this you will pay, as will both descendants who’ll exceed you. You are not the first, but they will be the last; for destiny does not play by the rules, nor does it give without demand. It is the cost, and you will rule in great divinity because of it, as a new world is formed. And like all worlds, this one too, will fall. But before it’s demise, the time will come when you will sire what is beyond you; giving back the life that was bestowed upon you. And to balance the scales, a sacrifice must be made, as a new world is formed. That is the cost. And as we breathe the breath of life into you, you shall be gifted, as shall you gift the power of the ones before you. Now, I command you to be, but do not waste, for a millennia goes by fast when your days are numbered.”
