Matsuo Bashō in Spanish Summer

Alexis and I are currently pet-sitting in the south of Spain. Watching him jump in the communal swimming pool made me want to write a haiku.

As I’m learning and improving my Japanese, I thought it might be fun to try to write it in Japanese.
Here is the haiku:プールの日 :

Want a bespoke artwork? Commissions now open!
Hey there,
If you’ve been following this blog, you know I love to write, explore, take pictures, model…
But you might not know I also love to draw and paint!
A few words about my art…I guess I’ve always been drawing. I’ve never really had formal training, I just loved drawing from references and drawing human faces. Then I expended slowly into comics, and more “traditional”, I mean, physical, tools: pencils, charcoals, watercolours, felt tips…
In 2018, I decided to boost my craf...

Bluebell and Luna

When we were in Wiltshire, a month and a half ago, I had planned a complicated music video inspired photoshoot, with changes of scenery, dynamic poses and a text around body image and beauty standards.

Indeed, as we carry only backpacks on our nomadic journey since October, I decided not to bring makeup. This is my first barefaced photoshoot. I have rosacea, a condition that causes me to always be red-cheeked, and am often sadly self-conscious about it, but not ashamed, and this is a ...

Where stories can lead
I moved to London because of stories.

I started yoga because of a book.

I started parkour because of video games.

In summer 2017, I had been living in London for a year and a half and I was at a yoga studio in Camden Town. My tummy had been hurting and I needed to exercise. I was trying the ashtanga class, not sure it was what I wanted as I usually prefer vinyasa or other creative types of yoga. Yet here I was, moving to the teacher’s boring litany of “Breath in. Upward fac...

I would wash myself in these pictures of plum trees and apple blossoms, sakura pink, bluebell, green, purple and smooth, all over again, until Im drowning in petals like guests of Roman emperors, metaphorically the idea behind art, no, the idea behind reality, without the pettiness and the evil meanings and the drama.

Splitting Image – Last Part: Red
The last parts of my short story, Splitting Image, with pictures from Marco Vinagre. As a recap:
And now…
Splitting Image – 2: Red
I step in.

Wow! It looks like I’m wearing a new dress! How magical! This one is so red and long and comfortable!

This tunnel is actually very bright and lovely! I can see all the wonders, like – oh! People! Not sure I expected them here but it’s a great surprise. I come near them, nothing happen...

Splitting Image – 2: Black
This is another part 2 (!) of my short story, Splitting Image. Next post will be: the last part 2 and part 3!
Read the beginning here:
Splitting Image – 2: Black
I step in.
Oh, why is this tunnel so different than it had looked from outside? So much brighter, I’m not sure if it is comforting, though. And… my outfit… is different. I wasn’t wearing this black and dark red kimono dress before. What sort of trick is it? Was I drugged for a while when I step...

Splitting Image – 2: Purple
This is one of the part 2s (!) of my new short story, “Splitting Image”. You can read part 1 here. I hope you’ll like it!
Splitting Image – 2: Purple
I step in.
This is strange. The tunnel is much brighter than it seemed from outside. It looks very sleek, and bends so you can’t see how far it goes.

I tug at my hair, wondering where I am and what is happening. I feel very warm, so I remove one of my jackets.

Wait… Are these people over there? I walk in the tunnel, an...

Splitting Image – 1
This is an illustrated, speculative and auto-fictional, short story! I hope you’ll like it! All the pictures were taken a year ago by Marco Vinagre in Kings Cross, London but coincidentally, my hair looks nearly the same colour today
