Jennifer Wright has been writing since middle school, eventually earning a master's degree in journalism from Indiana University. However, it took only a few short months of covering the local news to realize that writing fiction is much better for the soul--and definitely way more fun. A born and bred Hoosier, she was swept off her feet by an Air Force pilot and has spent the past decade traveling the world and, every few years, attempting to make old curtains fit in the windows of a new home.

She currently resides in New Mexico with her husband, two children, one grumpy dachshund, and a herd of overly demanding guinea pigs.

She is a member of ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers Association) and her second novel, 'Come Down Somewhere,'

I actually became interested in the Dust Bowl when I moved to New Mexico and witnessed a dust storm in person. It was one of the most terrifying (but also fascinating) things I had ever seen! It sparked my interest in dust storms and, ultimately, the Dust Bowl, and I began devouring every book and movie I could find about the subject. I read so many interesting books, but I will say Ken Burn's documentary was what sealed the deal for me. Hearing stories from survivors' own lips was so powerful. It was what convinced me that I needed to write a book about the Dust Bowl. I wanted to honor these men and women and bring some awareness to the difficulties they endured (and I truly hope 'If It Rains' did just that!)(less)

Birth of A Rite of Passage

There is perhaps no greater symbol of the emerging twentieth century than the humble automobile.

Bicycle mechanics J. Frank and Charles Duryea of Springfield, Massachusetts, designed the first successful American gasoline automobile in 1893, then won the first American car race in 1895, capturing the public’s imagination. They then went on to make the first sale of an American-made gasoline car th

“Abandoning us is simply not in His nature; it’s not who He is.”
Jennifer L. Wright, Come Down Somewhere

“This whole journey was not a punishment from a mean, spiteful, distant God, a way to emphasize my weakness. Rather, it was His way of showing me my strength. Because I’d had it all along—and it came from Him and who He’d made me to be.”
Jennifer L. Wright, If It Rains

“And he was hugging me, kissing me, propriety and rules now pieces of debris, washed out with the storm.”
Jennifer L. Wright, Last Light Over Galveston
