Dr. Timo R. Stewart holds a doctoral degree in political history from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki. His areas of expertise include the Israel-Palestine conflict, European and US Middle East policy, and the role of religion in conflict and politics, particularly Christian Zionism and Christian Nationalism.
Stewart’s peer reviewed monograph Valter Juvelius ja kadonneen arkin metsästys (Gaudeamus, 2020) was shortlisted for the Finlandia Prize in non-fiction in 2020 and awarded the Lauri Jäntti Prize in 2021. His latest book Luvatun maan lumo (Gaudeamus, 2022) presents the history of the phenomenon of Finnish Christian Zionism in the 20th century.
