Publishers Weekly Book of the Week

Hey, Publishers Weekly has announced its picks for the Books of the Week of March 3rd…I wonder if there’s anything interesting on there…hmmm…scroll down a bit…OMG, it’s I Have A Bad Feeling About This!!!

I wouldn’t make that up. Well, I probably would, but not in this particular instance. Here’s a handy verification link.

Movie Time!

Image

Whoa! It’s the teaser poster for CREEPERS, a horror anthology movie, featuring adaptations of stories by Joe Lansdale, Edgar Allan Poe, Lafcadio Hearn, and, yes, me. (Otherwise I wouldn’t be posting this. Poe doesn’t need the free publicity.)

The segment I wrote, “Gave Up The Ghost,” will be directed by Gregory “Slime City” Lamberson. It’s currently in pre-production and the cameras roll at the end of this month. I’ll be flying up to Buffalo, New York to be on the set, so if my fingers aren’t too numb from the bitter cold I’ll post an exciting set report with all the latest gossip. Is Lamberson an insane dictator on set? Will there be any hot off-screen romances? Will I run around wailing “My creative vision is being compromised! My creative vision is being compromised!”? Stay tuned for the answers!

In the meantime, check out the CREEPERS Facebook fan page: https://www.facebook.com/creepersfil

BEWARE: Onslaught of Blog Entries

I’m way behind on this blog, due to a novella deadline (successfully met!) and plenty of other chaos. I’m going to try to post a few updates today, and then get back to my “more or less every day or so, sort of” blogging schedule.

Gleefully Macabre Tales Is BACK!

You know what sucks? The flu. It totally sucks. I spent the past few days thinking how much the flu sucks, and how nice it was when I didn’t have the flu, and how I will never again laugh at people with the flu and call them slackers who are faking it to get out of having to go to school or work.

But I’m healthy now (*cough* *cough*) and can happily share that the digital edition of my short story collection Gleefully Macabre Tales is back! You may not have noticed that it was gone, but I assure you, it was, and now it’s back! And for a limited time (let’s say maybe two weeks or so) it’s a scant 99 cents!

Except for the new cover by Lynne Hansen, it’s the exact same book, so if you’ve already bought it there’s no reason to go “Ooh! Ooh! New edition of Gleefully Macabre Tales! New edition of Gleefully Macabre Tales! I bet it’s filled with never-before-seen stories and packed with bonus content!” It’s not. It’s the same book. But if you started with Dead Clown Barbecue  wished that I’d published a short story collection before that…I did!

Click HERE to get your 99 cent Kindle edition! 85,000 words’ worth of insane stories!

Fun Fact!

Fun Fact! The hardcover limited edition of A Bad Day For Voodoo has an extra chapter that spoofs the mash-up novel craze: Wuthering Heights (With A Cow In It). It was cut from the paperback/digital edition because, even by the standards of that book, it was too silly.
