Beverly B. Palmer, Ph.D. is a professor emeritus of psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a clinical psychologist in private practice. Her academic knowledge and clinical understanding informed her books, Love Demystified: Strategies for a Successful Love Life and Escaping Expectations.
In Escaping Expectations, she realizes she has been "shoulding all over myself," constantly striving to meet perceived expectations rather than her own internal desires.
