Intermission…mostly

Pardon our Dust (faerie and otherwise)
For the next eight weeks or so, Natasha and Ruthann will be locked away building on the world and characters we designed in Delevan House. The Delevan Diaries will continue this unique gothic folk horror trilogy.

Scottish Proverb
We shared this proverb with our #BrazenReaders in #BeBrazen Summer Solstice 2023 Edition.
Ruthann and Natasha joke about this ‘twin brain’ thing that has happened since we began working together. Forget co-dependent lovers who finish each other sentences. We are an ocean apart and from cultures that sometimes are ‘worlds apart’ yet so entwined; it’s somewhat spiritual. That’s the intensity of artists who share passions and pieces of themselves for you.
And like the saying goes, “Danger and delight grow on one stalk”—Ruthann and Natasha can never figure out who is which. Perhaps they take it in turn to be the danger or delight.

Brazen Busy
It’s crazy busy over here at Brazen Folk Horror! Ruthann is currently at the HWA’s annual StokerCon event in Pittsburg, where she will also be panelling! Natasha is developing direct sales protocols and designing merchandise for our readers. She has some ‘shop and collect’ options for readers visiting the markets she’s attending over the summer and autumn. Check out Clan Witch for more details. Of course, we each have a host of other mayhem in the mix, but it’s all wicked good fun.

Brazen Interviews
Natasha and Ruthann were recently interviewed by the divine voice of The Dark Mind Podcast, Vincent Midgard. This was Natasha’s first time meeting Vince, who has previously spent ‘delicious’ (if you’ve heard, you know) time with Ruthann. It was a fantastic experience, and we wanted to share with our readers the first interview featuring us as a collaborative force!

#BeBrazen at Events
Team Brazen Folk Horror smoothly divide and conquers! Ruthann represents us at American events, and Natasha will swan about Scotland. For starters!
The next event on the Brazen Folk Horror calendar is StokerCon, presented by The Horror Writers Association. As members, it’s a given we support this fantastic and important event on the Horror literary calendar. It takes place between the 15th – 18th of June 2023 at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel in Pittsburgh.
Ruthann will be panelling at this event with other fantastic speakers in the genre. If you haven’t got a ticket and will be in the area, it’s a must-go-to event.
Then we’re off to Texas Author Con! Brazen Folk Horror are proud sponsors of the event. It was a no-brainer since Jagge is a Texas resident. Supporting local artists and events is deeply important to us.
This is the second year of Texas Author Con, which has grown exponentially in scale and hype since its first year! From hosting 14 author/artist tables to 80 this year, with a waiting list.
Tickets are FREE. It takes place at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel on the 14th and 15th of July, 2023. This multi-genre event has panels over the weekend, special giveaways and exclusives for attendees only. If you can — get there!
Ruthann will be representing her solo work and Brazen Folk Horror, with signed books available for purchase along with other specially designed condiments. Catch her on the Folklore panel too! She loves meeting and chatting with readers and cannot wait to meet you!
