Julia Child Makes Ginger Crinkles

Have you been following my Crazy Christmas Challenge? Today I’m making my kids’ favorite Ginger Crinkle Recipe as Julia Child… just as I did when they were little…



Ginger Crinkles


2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup shortening (or cooking oil)

1/4 cup molasses

1 egg

How Much Hope Do You Have?

A friend recommended I watch the movie, The Shawshank Redemption. “It’s all about freedom,” she said.


That was enough to pique my interest. So I DVR’d a television-cut version and watched it last week.
