Pet Peeve: It’s Never About the Money Or the Time

Pet Peeve: When experts say, “It’s never about the money or the time.”

In some seasons of your life you have so many external demands on your time/money that you can’t do the things you really want to do. Children need your attention, elderly parents need caring for, demanding jobs consume hours, financial calamities strike.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t save up the money or that you can’t better use small snippets of time to work toward the thing you desire. You may not have the money or the...

Beware of the First Thing That Comes Along

When one begins creating a better life, she must often let go of what isn’t working in order to make room for what will. But beware of the first or second thing that comes along to fill the void.

If you’ve studied the power of thought on your life’s circumstances, you know to envisionhow yourideal life will look, feel and be. You visualize it with such certainty it feels almost tangible to you, an eventuality, not just a hope or dream for the future. It’s a legitimatecreation waiting to be del...

Coincidences or God-Winks?

Are you noticing the little tender mercies in your life? My friend Laura West calls them, “God winks.” Lately, Elijah, my 13-year-old, has been teaching me about acknowledgingthem.

For school, Elijah’sbeen making aphysical map of Georgia out of a bigcookie.

Elijah’s one of my very responsible, “get it done” children. He’s also incredibly honest. The other day he found a $10 bill at school and gave it to the teacher. His older siblings said he should have kept it, that it would never get back to...

God Rejoices In Your Creations

One of my clients, Angie Christensen, posted this on Facebook today, and with her permission I post it here. I think it’s incredibly insightful and something everyone marketing their expertise online would do well to understand:

“In recovering from my business identity crisis this week, I learned something about creating with God. I learned that I have truly created something, because it is purely me. 100%. It is a true reflection of my experiences, knowledge, impressions, and personality.

“It...

The Whispered Dream

Your dreams whisper to you … heed their call and co-create them with God. This is an extemporaneous piano creation I recorded tonight and set to some of my photography. I decided to also add some affirmations to support you in your dreams. I hope you enjoy it!

If having a joyful life of influence is part of your big vision, I’d love to support you in it

Co-Creating with God: When Something Feels Off

A few months ago I was collaborating with someone on a fun project. This was no ordinary project. It was one that could affect the trajectory of my life. We were excited and had lots of energy and passion about the idea. My fellow collaborator and I could see the end quite vividly. We began brainstorming and having conversations about the details and were jazzed about the possibilities. Honestly, we were having a blast. I hadn’t had so much fun in years. We were both so engaged with the idea...

Interview with Bestselling Author Jennifer Youngblood

The Secret Song of the Ditch LiliesI had the opportunity to interview my good friend, Jennifer Youngblood, about her bestselling novel, The Secret Song of the Ditch Lilies. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. Nobody captures the South quite like Jennifer Youngblood and her mom Sandra Poole.

The cool thing about this book is that it’s loosely based on Jennifer’s upbringing in Alabama. If you’ve ever thought of writing a book based on your own life, be sure to get your copy of The Secret Song of the Ditch Lilies (Part 1): A Southern Ro...
