Can you own an idea?

In one of my favorite books, “Return from Tomorrow,” George Ritchie shares the account of his 9 minute death and subsequent visit to the spirit realms. He saw people in various locations. Some were still tied to their old lives and others had moved on.

imageHe saw a heavenly lab where ideas were created and dropped like lightning bolts onto the earth. Raining ideas on everyone. Those who were in tune, picked them up. Of those, a few took action and implemented them. I like that way of looking at...

Affirmations for When You Messed Up

Have you ever prayed for an opportunity, and then when it came you royally messed it up? Old habits, over-zealous desires, unhealed wounds or fears got in your way.You may have made unwise or unhealthy choices as a result.

You may even feel likeyour mistakes have taken you so off course you willnever find your way again. This can be a very hopeless, frightening and lonely place to be. You may feel as if God let you down or that you have betrayed yourself.

Today I’d like to share a few affirma...

No Scars

I find great comfort and hope in this quote by Boyd K Packer:

“Repentance is the supreme manifestation of God’s mercy and generosity. Our spirits are damaged when we make mistakes and commit sins. But unlike the case with our mortal bodies, when the repentance process is complete, no scars remain because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.”

Ironically, the Savior chose to keep His scars. Or are they His scars at all? I think perhaps they are mine.

As we celebrate this Easter morning, I am grate...

Are You Tired of Pushing the Immovable Rock?

A good friend expressed great disappointment that she had spent her life working and striving to do her best, yet she felt as if she had been struck with one disappointment after another. Nothing she did ever took her anywhere solid. Every dream withered on the vine. Why not just give up? Why not stop dreaming, stop believing? It had all been a waste. It hurts too much to hope. Dreaming is painful.

I felt sad for my friend. I’ve been where she’s been. I know those bottomed out points. They may...

Have You Lost Hope?

When life has slammed you with one disappointmentafter another, it’s easy to lose faith that anything can be different. Sliding into a state of hopelessness often occurs.

sadwoman-morguefileI know how this feels. I’ve been there, done that. It’s a lonely and powerless place to be. But, in time I discovered a secret for maintaining hope without letting every disappointment crush it.

The secret is in knowing what part you control and what part God controls.

You control WHATyou want and WHY you want it.
The only WHOyo...

ARISE Light Bearers!

My friend Jhonny K just released a new album. I love this song, “Arise.” It’s a fantastic theme song for Light Bearers who have been through so much and now rise up and light the way for others.

Here’s what Jhonny says, “This song is dedicated to those who become more than their depression, or being bullied, or mental health issues, we want to help ARISE from the darkness.”

Proceeds from the song go to suicide prevention. Be sure to get your copy at http://www.arisewithus.com
