Eduard Yuryevich Shim [Эдуард Юрьевич Шим] (real name - Schmidt) (1930-2006) - Russian writer and playwright.
Eduard Shim was born in Leningrad, spent his childhood in an orphanage, from the age of 16 he began to earn money on his own, having tried many professions - he worked as a driver, gardener, carpenter, turner. Returning after evacuation to Leningrad, he entered the art and architecture school.
In the 1960s he moved to Moscow, worked in the editorial office of the Znamya magazine. He began to publish in 1949; wrote mainly for children.
