Lonelectorem Review of Book 3

Thank you, IG's @lonelectorem for yet another epic review. This time for WINE DARK DEEP: The Odyssey

"When I started reading this series with its first book ‘Wine Dark Deep’ I found its descriptions very complex and overly technical. Now, after reading the third book of this series I finally find myself getting comfortable with the author's writing style and his techniques. What I learned about @rpeterkeith from these books is that he's a very practical and intelligent author, even if he writes space science fiction, he keeps its events grounded to the possibilities of reality.

Why am I saying this? If you read any of these books, as a reader, you will realize that he doesn't exaggerate any scenes that he portrays in the story; let's say, either it's the crew's first-ever encounter with the aliens, possible language and communication struggles that humans may face with such encounter, their conscience to trust those beings or forms, or that accidental inter-galactic space travel, the way the author describes them and links to the story it all will make very practical sense to you.

The overall reading experience of this book was both exciting and terrifying. The author keeps this constant rush and eagerness in the story where I felt myself being absorbed in the premise. The deliberate description of intense action scenes made it more cinematic than the last two books. It gave more 'mind-fuck' moments combined with its first two books.

I have never read a sci-fi series so it's my first and I am moved by the author's excellent knowledge and research skills. All his contents, story and premise building, and the uncertainty that he brings in his books and makes them unpredictable is something worth to read and that's why this series is MUST read for every sci-fi freak out there. As I already mentioned in my earlier reviews, this may not be a compatible read for every reader but if you are willing to invest your time in the space saga that the author has created, then I promise, you will not regret your decision! After reading this book I have very high hopes for the fourth book and I am counting on the author's potential even more."

WINE DARK DEEP SERIES review by @jypsylynn

Via IG's @jypsylynn - "Keith's expertise and passion for space exploration are vivid and will give readers an exciting and realistic look into the unknowns of space on an edge-of-your- seat journey.

"These stories are about a group of people displaying their humanity in extreme situations—but it has nothing really to do with today’s world," says Keith. "It’s all about telling a great story of tomorrow and what it might bring. It's about the promise of fantastic challenges and the spirit of humanity to discover and overcome. It’s a big universe you can dissolve into to escape."

Dannii Elle Review

Via Dannii Elle - "The two standouts for me, from this stack, were The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, whose gorgeous prose and emotional storyline completely captivated me, and Wine Dark Deep, which managed to pack an entire space saga into a novella page length. What have you been reading and loving, recently?"

TRUXTON

Okay, so I like to talk about video games and toys and movies that inspired my writing. Today I’m talking about TRUXTON for the Sega Genesis. I bought this game and was just blown away. I had never seen the arcade version (its very close) but I was always a fan of shoot-em-ups (shmups) but I had never seen one with such richness of color and graphics and variety of weird alien enemies and environments. Every crazy creature or vehicle seems to behave differently and the landscapes seemed to tell a tale of alien strangeness. I was constantly imagining who these aliens might be and what motivated them to attack whoever the hell I was supposed to be. The spareness of desired detail made my imagination bloom!

Book 2 Review - The Aliens!

Thank You IG's @Lonelectorem for your thoughtful review of all three books. - "I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because of its gripping suspense that revolves around that alien life form. I have never read a book where humans encountered with the aliens and reading some hypotheses and theories, or watching sci-fi space movies only gave me ideas about the possible life forms, but what I read in this book, was completely insane. Even the whole reading experience was INSANE. The author put me in a situation—just like he out his characters—where I wondered how the first contact with the aliens can be and it cannot be very pleasant or tragic, but very CONFUSING.
.
I am not sure if there's any genre like 'Sci-fi space horror-thriller', but for me, this book was exactly like that. It was hard to speculate if the alien life-form was either cooperative or trying to harm the spacecraft and before I could form a judgment it all ended with a DAMN cliffhanger.
.
If you love movies like 'Gravity', 'Arrival', and 'Life', then pick this book series blindly and you won't be disappointed."
