Happy Solstice!
Remember, it only gets brighter from here on out. …In the Northern Hemisphere. Until June. And it’ll take a while to get warmer. But it still counts!
12/21/2020 Snippet, TIMMY AND THE CHRISTMAS ELF.
Information!
Patreon!“What’s that?” the witch asked him. She looked a little cold, and a little scared, and really mad. Timmy didn’t know why. She hadn’t gotten hit with elf-shot.
“None of your business,” Timmy said automatically. But then he realized he didn’t actually care if she knew. If she was a witch, it was probably safe to tell her. “Yeah, sorry. The elf will leave if I don’t jam this thing into the fence. It’ll keep it in.”
“How? Is it a spell? A magic item? Some kind of artifact?”
“Uh. I don’t know?”
“How can you not know?”
Right then, there was a faint zapping sound, and an entire section of the fenced-in area went into shadow as a couple of lights shorted out. Jimmy was already running towards it. “I don’t have to know! I just have to know how to use it!” he said, over his shoulder.
THE GREEN KNIGHT gets new July 2021 release date.
More details here, such as they are. I’m on the record as liking the aesthetic of THE GREEN KNIGHT: to paraphrase Terry Pratchett, it’s got the look of a magic system where the flaming sword burns all the way down to the pommel. Hopefully everything’s back to normal by July, so that I can go see it in a theater.

PS: There’s also a TTRPG.
Tweet of the Day, The Mouse Maintains Impressive Informational Security edition.
Nobody heard about this – or any of the other stuff that happened in the finale of THE MANDALORIAN – until Disney was good and ready. Also: since Disney has mentioned it officially and everything, I am ABSOLUTELY there to watch a smirking Ming-Na Wen shoot people even worse than her on Temuera Morrison’s behalf. I didn’t even know I wanted that! Thanks, Jon, Dave, and Robert. Happy holidays to you, too.
The Book of Boba Fett, a new Original Series, starring Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen and executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez, set within the timeline of The Mandalorian, is coming to @DisneyPlus Dec. 2021. pic.twitter.com/JP54yEe9WF

The Mandalorian Light Show.
Holiday posting this week…
…if it wasn’t already obvious. The kids have school until Thursday, but damned if I know what they expect them to learn this week. I don’t know if the school knows, either. We’re all quite keen to find out though, yah, you betcha.
Started the second pass-through on TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION edits.
Rather fewer of them this time, which makes sense, yes? The first pass-through is where the editor nukes all the really bad stuff; the second one is where felicity of style starts to make an appearance; and the third is apparently dedicated to me desperately trying to remember when to use the appropriate dash. I apparently have a dash problem, and a carriage return problem too. Which is good! I imagine it’s a bit of a burden to be perfect.
Reminder: the pre-order store for TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION is open, over on Backerkit!
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Okay, So It Was ALSO A Pickup Line.’
Would ‘Okay, So It Was ALSO A Pickup Line’ work in real life? …No? Look, sorry, I was never exactly what you’d call good at picking up girls. My wife almost had to hit me in the head with a club before I realized that she was interested in me. So I wouldn’t use this site as a font of dating wisdom, sorry.

Moderna [vaccine] approved by FDA.
Second one out, and already starting to be distributed:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the second COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in the United States.
The FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization for the coronavirus vaccine produced by Moderna for ages 18 years of age or older.
The Moderna vaccine can be safely refrigerated (the Pfizer vaccine needs a very cold freezer), which will be handy. It does have slightly worse side effects in some people than the Pfizer vaccine does, although not particularly severe ones. Everybody involved should be congratulated for their yeoman work. Well done!
Book of the Week: REVISIONARY.
REVISIONARY! By, well, me. With a horror-themed illustration for each story, too! I have some pardonable pride about how this came out. Whether it’s justifiable pride… ehh. I dunno?
