Videogame of the Week: Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS4).
My oldest son and I were both unaware that they released Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the PS4. I’m relieved, honestly, because I wasn’t gonna buy a PS5 so soon after getting this one…
‘An Alternate History of the Roman Empire.’
This is a very interesting set of articles about an alternate history Roman Empire by Tim Venning. Tim avoided making major changes to the timeline, preferring instead to have a high degree of historical inertia which nonetheless resulted in greater and greater changes over time, with an eye towards whether an Imperial collapse might be delayed or staved off. I look forward to reading the entire thing when it comes out.

‘The First Noel.’
The EVIL DEAD: THE GAME trailer.
I think EVIL DEAD: THE GAME is Xbox-exclusive – no, wait, it’s not. I’m not sure of its appeal, though. It feels more like something you’d play on a bonus board of an existing co-op/PvP game than its own thing.
Still. Groovy.
FDA authorizes EUA for Pfizer vaccine.
Here we go.
Today, FDA issued the first emergency use authorization (EUA) for a vaccine for the prevention of #COVID19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 16 years of age and older. The emergency use authorization allows the vaccine to be distributed in the U.S. https://t.co/1Vu0xQqmCB pic.twitter.com/c8maeePP9O

I’ve had Christmas gifts I’ve liked less.
‘Music of Dark Adventure.’
I may pick this up, if I get Christmas money that can be translated into HPLHS. Basically, the HPL Historical Society collected all of the orchestral music they use for their Dark Adventure Radio Theater shows and is now offering them in an album. I like it! If I ran a Call of Cthulhu game, I wouldn’t be waiting to pick it up.
Oh, this looks VERY nice.

12/11/20 Snippet, TIMMY AND THE CHRISTMAS ELF.
More stalking!

The elf had done something to the security pad that normally kept the door to the back of the mall closed. Timmy remembered that they could do stuff like that. Elves didn’t like electricity and iron, and those two things didn’t like them right back; but when it came to electric gadgets elves messed that stuff up, instead of being messed up by them. The power would come back on, but until then the door opened with a touch.
Behind was basically boring adult stuff. Timmy had been hoping for rows of shelves and crates, just like that old movie; what he got instead was a hallway with an old carpet and lights that were either too bright, or too flickery. The rooms here looked like offices, now closed because it was after dark, and if there were any cleaning ladies it was between shifts.
That would work. The elf was probably crouched in one of the offices, waiting to see if, ha, somebody was following it before it made a break for the door to the outside at the opposite end. Which was dumb, Timmy thought. If you need to run, run. That’s what he’d do. That’s what he’d done. But dumb was helping him, so Timmy stepped forward…
…and stopped at the question suddenly hissed behind him. “Hey! Are you supposed to be here?”
So, I was up until 5 AM on CYBERPUNK 2077.
I guess that means it’s… good? Also: it is remarkably easy to get into the habit of slaughtering gang members (after checking them for NCPD bounties, of course) in order to fund your cyberware debts. I realized this only after being surrounded by a pile of corpse parts in an alleyway. Am I a serial killer for the police? I asked myself, and was mildly troubled when I considered the answer.
Awk-ward…

PS: Cyberpunk 2077 runs real smooth on my machine, by the way. I dunno, maybe the Day One Patch was included in the reinstallation.
