Album of the Week: I Follow the Moon.
It’s by Malukah, who’s done or been involved in three of my absolute favorite videogame-derived songs. I FOLLOW THE MOON is more mainstream, but I’m listening to it now and it’s very neat. Vivacious and soothing.

‘How It Is.’
I like these folks. I can’t listen to them and not cheer up.
Gonna be light posting this weekend.
I’m starting a campaign for my group – shock! In Nomine! It was requested! – Saturday and Sunday I’m talking with a book group (mom’s side of the family). I’ve been good about not nagging family members to buy the books, but they absolutely will buy some now for this. So, gonna be a busy weekend.
I should also get some writing in. Those books ain’t gonna write themselves.
Oh, and Twitter stopped false-flagging the links to this site.
I presume that my habit of reporting it every single time a link was false-flagged eventually flipped a switch somewhere. The trick is to make it consistent, but irregular. Eventually it all piles up to the point where a human has to take a look.
Or so I theorize. Anyway, the links work now. (Now watch, they won’t.)
The week is over!
Massive stress and much difficulty actually doing anything. But today I actually sat down and figured out the plot of the story for the Baen contest. Now that I have, I can actually write the damn thing properly. I also straightened out something with the Portland Fermi Resolution story that had been bugging me.
Oddly, all of that helped. Or maybe not oddly. Clarity is useful.

PS: My wife also flat-out told me she had a nigh-insurmountable problem with a character in MORGAN BAROD. I said, “Well, what if he was [x] instead of [y]?” and then there was no problem at all. And then I had to admit to myself that she was right. Still, easily fixed.
My thoughts on WandaVision.
I enjoyed it. Quite a lot, actually. Avengers: Age of Ultron gets sneered at, quite a bit – a bit too much, in my opinion – but it set up this series nicely. WandaVision actually mined quite a few of the mid- and bottom- tier MCU flicks for characters and concepts, usually to the show’s benefit. There was some good dialogue written for this show. Also: there was one particular scene that made me almost yell “BEEP BEEP, MOTHERF*CKER” at the screen, so there’s that, too.
Bottom line is: I didn’t waste my time watching WandaVision. I had a good time. Just bear in mind that I watched all the movies. I don’t know how comprehensible it was to people who didn’t, although my wife’s liking the show, too.

‘The Son Never Shines (On Closed Doors).’
Penny Arcade e-Racing tonight!
As usual, over here. It’s soothing, and I could use some soothing tonight. This first week of the new school schedule is almost done, no blow-ups, and all it took was an endless amount of vigilance and teacher’s-aiding!
…Why, yes, I do have both rum, and Coca-Cola. What a fascinating idea. Although I tried Scotch and soda water a while back, and now I get why people drink that.
New trailer hints at Martian Manhunter in the #SnyderCut.
That’s what GeekTyrant thinks, at least, and I think they’re right.
Also: Ben Affleck is a hell of a lot better at being Batman than I thought Ben Affleck would be at being Batman. Go figure, huh? Honestly looking forward to JUSTICE LEAGUE on the 18th…
03/04/21 Snippet, DUNGEON CLEANING.
Raymond Chandler knew what he was about.

Marta snorted when I brought it up. “Come on, Ike,” she said. “Cold, wet, dark, people good enough to kill us all and then take our stuff. You really miss that?”
“Well, sure. Don’t you?”
That got the dimples going. “Absolutely. But I’m a green-skinned savage from the wilds. You’re a civilized wizard, Scholar of the Chill, Keeper of the secrets of the Azure Wisdom. Not some spellchucker with the ink still damp on his journeyman rating. Where’s your dignity, man?”
I grinned back at her, then looked through the windows, for once. It really was a nice view up here. “I got plenty. Heck, I’ll trade half of it for my old knees back. Guess I just wish for the old days of sudden terror—” and that’s when I grabbed Marta and dragged her down to the floor, just before the windows shattered.
