The STAR WARS: BUCKETHEADS Fan Trailer.

It’s getting easier and easier for non-professional studios to get to ‘Ehh. I can’t really tell the difference’ TV/movie production values. BUCKETHEADS is operating at, what, 1998, 2002 AD-style special effects? That’s easily enough, for what they need to produce. The next step for them is to get enough money to be able to hire professional actors, and then hey, presto! They’ve got a film company. With probably considerably less overhead.

Mind you, at that point they’re gonna need to get their own IPs.

May the Fourth be with you.

As is traditional to note on this day. Of course, ‘tradition’ is a slippery concept, here. Anyway, we’ve moved away from rumors that a remake of KOTOR might be in the works to rumors that the upcoming KOTOR will be an action RPG instead of a turn-based one. Which would definitely argue against them just re-porting the game to modern consoles*.

So, hey! Actual Star Wars news that you might care about! Awesome!

*I also wonder how much cut content they’d officially put into a re-port ofd KOTOR II. After all, there was a team of people already doing it for them.

CDPR executives get big bonuses… because CYBERPUNK 2077 made a lot of money.

I figure MMORPG.com sorta gets it, but Bloomberg sure doesn’t: the latter is just a little bit exercised about the fact that CD Projekt Red is handing out fairly hefty manager bonuses, based on the profits accrued from CYBERPUNK 2077. Then again, Bloomberg actually called that game “the video game industry’s biggest flop of 2020,” apparently because the website’s from an alternate dimension where the game didn’t move 13.7 million units in December and the company paid out a dividend. They also profit-shared with the rest of the company, too.

I was gonna be all, Look, we get it — but then I remembered that I hate it when people tell me what I’m really thinking. Suffice it to say I’m not surprised that a company having its best sales year ever spread it around, and I’m not particularly upset that management got a nice hunk of that. Just as long as they get cracking on the new DLC.

Christina Ricci rumored to be under consideration for Morticia.

HEY! WE’RE ALL OLD! “Tim Burton is developing a spin-off series at Netflix based on The Addams Family daughter, Wednesday… [a report says] production is looking at franchise alum Christina Ricci to join the cast as Wednesday’s mother Morticia Addams.”

Seriously, though, I’m down. I am fine with Tim Burton trying his hand at The Addams Family and it’s a clever conceit, using Ricci to play Morticia. Successful or not, Burton will at least make the movie interesting. That’s not always guaranteed, when you’re talking about a sequel to an existing IP.

…Yeah, I agree with the above, but that’s not what I’m coming back to. What I’m coming back to is, again, somehow I’m in my fifties and the kid I watched in the movies is now maybe going to play that character’s mother. What happened?

Report: Pfizer vaccine to be approved for 12-15 year olds.

Just a report, but if it’s true then it’s pretty damn big – and pretty good news.

…I had further commentary on this subject regard vaccine prioritization, but I’m retired. Suffice it to say we’re gonna see a lot of vaccinations this summer if the report pans out. Be prepared.

In the mail: the ScarJo GHOST IN THE SHELL.

Blame Sonny Bunch.

this is a hill I am going to die on and I am fine with that pic.twitter.com/vXItt6wFrI

In my experience: I don’t agree very often with Sonny over what makes for a bad movie. But I’ve found that he’s usually right over what makes for a good movie. Worth grabbing GHOST IN THE SHELL over, at least.

Snippet the Last, LE ROI EST MORT.

It needed not as much, but it did need some extra stuff.

Patreon!

And, just like that, the terrible pressure disappears. You are still in the crypt; but you are also inside the ‘float’ of the Tsan-Chan. You are become a toy of the unseen puppet-masters floating above you, and you will dance and bleed and revel and die for their amusement… no, not until the end of time. Time is now meaningless. There is only the Now.

You cry more proud tears of blood and salt. None can deny your devotion! You love the Golden Emperor more than your fellow-humans! You love the Golden Emperor more than your own life! And you love the Golden Emperor more than you love the pathetic reality of your birth!

You savor your reward, content inside your strings. How lovely it is, to feel the gaping hole in your soul where the unenlightened might feel responsibility and volition. How glorious it is, to be so free.

Tweet of the Day, Dear God, It *Is* Them edition.

I even know the movie! (The Dead Pool) …You gotta wonder how all of that happened, and why, and who lost a bet*.

I was not prepared for Jim Carrey and Liam Neeson to have roles in this Dirty Harry movie pic.twitter.com/r8wRcvQilt

*Contra the Tweeter above, the movie wasn’t so much bad as it was kinda ridiculous. Dirty Harry movies don’t age badly, but they definitely get dated quick. And even then the premise was starting to feel distinctly alternate timeline-y.
