In the E-mail: the @HPLHS’s DART THE HORROR IN THE MUSEUM.

I don’t know whether THE HORROR IN THE MUSEUM is available for sale, yet: I pre-ordered the CD plus the props, and the HPL Historical Society just let me know that the download is ready. I have accordingly downloaded it. And soon, I shall listen to it.

In accordance with the prophecy.

PS: God, I love these radio plays. And I could use a new one, right now. The diversion is welcome.

Carl Weathers teases new THE MANDALORIAN season.

Not yet shooting, but supposedly soon: “We’re gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian, within the next month. Yeah. And I get to be in front of camera again, and I get to direct again.” Guess that means THE LAST OF US has finished production. And that the Mouse thinks that the heat’s died down enough to try to get that third season going.

Is that last part true? Why, I don’t know! Guess we’ll see!

Got some preliminary sketches in for the DECISIONS chapbook!

I’m trying to get that out in between edits on MORGAN BAROD and finally making progress on the finished version of the RPG supplement (got to get that backlist of my books populated, right?). Come, I will conceal nothing from you: the external events going on this week has been nothing but frustrating to me. And infuriating. And a few other, not particularly nice, emotions as well.

But! DECISIONS artwork! Below is a taste of the rough version of one of them. I’m using Ben Fleuter again, obviously. I’m hoping to buy a little more art from him for the RPG, too. But that’s a whole different conversation.

The Nerf Aliens LMTD M41A Pulse Blaster.

…(Via Fark) I assume I have your attention, now?

The Nerf Aliens LMTD M41A Pulse Blaster: a fully-automatic, Ultra/Mega over/under shooter. Ten-round motorized Ultra magazine with digital shot counter, pump-action for the Mega. “Movie-inspired blaster sounds” included. This GameStop-exclusive baby will run you $94.99, because they have a pretty good feel for their target markets. Five bucks more might have hit a price point.

PS: Oh, it is absolutely beautiful. But it’s not ’95 bucks beautiful,’ at least to me. Or at least at this particular moment in time.

CYBERPUNK 2077 1.3 patch includes small free DLC.

Nothing major, just some cosmetics. The bright side there is that CDPR did something similar for The Witcher: Wild Hunt where they would release lots of little stuff regularly, which was nice. Utterly futile, in this case — nobody’s opinion of Cyberpunk 2077 is going to change, just because of a new car — but at least they’re trying to get things back to normal. And, hell, I never got any DLC for ME: Andromeda, and that still ticks me off*.

Moe Lane

*So does releasing games before they’re ready, obviously.

Tweet of the Day, …Sure, Okay, Let’s Teach Robots How to Parkour edition.

Why the hell not? Surely it’ll never end in murderbots doing jumpy-flippy stuff in the abandoned streets of post-apocalyptic Newark.

…Hrm.

Parkour is the perfect sandbox for the Atlas team to experiment with new behaviors. Through jumps, balance beams, and vaults, we push Atlas to its limits to discover the next generation of mobility, perception, and athletic intelligence. https://t.co/xZRNVnhrkc pic.twitter.com/E0ssh45ZCi

The *Very* Anime STAR WARS: VISIONS Disney+ trailer.

Now, obviously, STAR WARS: VISIONS was supposed to be anime, because it’s a collection of episodes from various Japanese animation studios. So conceded. It is, however, almost immediately clear that the studios in question were not phoning their anime-ness in.

My only worry here is that they’re going to try to make me watch the dubbed versions. Which, yeah, no. I am totally a snob that way.

08/17/21 Snippet, RESCUE.

…Ted’s damn safety harness had probably been cheap-ass even when it was new, back in the last century. As he was straining to get a strap tightened, he heard a pop, just as the ship shuddered and tilted. It was a pretty good tilt, too, enough to send him staggering down the deck, and right into a cargo crate. It could have been worse: Ted didn’t lose a tooth, and didn’t even break his nose. He did get a nasty cut along the scalp, which he only noticed when he put his hand to the sudden pain in his head and it came back watery-red.

“Fuck!” yelled Ted, his bloody hand leaving a smear on the crate as he levered himself up. He followed that with some of the foreign curse words he had learned lately — only to suddenly be grabbed, and pulled away from the crate. It was Rahi, who started to propel Ted to the nearest hatchway while doing some shouting himself; whatever he was saying, it didn’t sound polite. He certainly wasn’t being calm.

The ‘Eat. Them. All, Do-do-do-do-do-do’ SWIM trailer.

Seriously, anybody who goes down into a flooded basement to check a circuit breaker is asking to auto-darwinate herself anyway. Why blame the shark? Damn thing doesn’t even want to be there.

And by “there” I obviously mean “an Asylum movie.”
