So, they’re doing a sequel to CONSTANTINE.

Guess I’m gonna have to watch the first CONSTANTINE now: “Warner Bros will develop another installment of the 2005 supernatural thriller Constantine, and the studio is re-teaming star Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence, who made his helming debut on the original.” I yeah, I dunno why I’ve never actually sat down to watch it. I kind of blame the way CD drives went away on computers. It’s just a hassle these days to catch non-streaming flicks on my PC…

PSA of the Day, I Know That None Of MY Readers Need Be Told This edition.

But we still need to get the word out. Tweet after the fold because @ZODIAC_MF is nearly the Platonic Ideal of Not Safe For Work. And it is a glorious thing to see*.

*You know how, when most people say they don’t care, they’re really just trying not to get two-for-flinching? …Zodiac legitimately does not care. Watching his would-be trolls eventually succumb to cognitive dissonance poisoning is one of the few unadulterated joys of Twitter.

DUTIES is now available in Kindle, KU, and print!

DUTIES is my latest illustrated chapbook:

Four tales of obligations! Four stories, each with its own illustration! And each with its own hero! There’s the killer robot of MEATBAGS, who cannot wait to tell you what he thinks about humanity. Then there’s the clever cleric of THE FIGHT IN THE GROVE, fighting to save the forest from corruption and blight! Joining them is the weary wisecracker of PROCESSING DUTY, buried deep in the darkest shadow of the Cold War. Lastly is MOTHER’S LITTLE HELPER, and his machinations in a funhouse mirror of two centuries. Read this cross-genre romp today! (Four stories, each with its own illustration, thirty-two thousand words total.)

And with any luck, I’ll have copies in time for Fright Reads. Slowly but surely, I develop a catalog…

Tweet of the Day, Unclaimed Metaphor Availability Alert edition. (Possibly NSFW)

A metaphor for what? …Well, that’s why it’s unclaimed! The possibilities are endless.

Uhm… it looks like this wrecked semi spilled a load of dildos and lube all over I-40! Great camera work, @news9! pic.twitter.com/bdFh3hGuNs

Mental health day today, tomorrow.

Going to try to get enough sleep, sit down and block out some stories instead of just writing blindly, and generally defocus myself. I need to do some time management work on myself, honestly. Best to do it now…

‘Sweet Baby James.’

I already did ‘Fire and Rain’ this year. Besides, I genuinely enjoy this song.

THE SPICE MUST FLOW, D&D Edition.

(Via GeekTyrant) We’re almost certainly going to be doing Spelljammer after this adventure is over, but maybe we can get this D&D adventure in, first!

Pumpkin Spice, Not So Nice

“It has been said that if one utters the words ‘pumpkin spice’ thrice while staring intently upon a reflective surface, a light-hued female will appear and droll on incessantly about her favorite things concerning fall.” –Anonymous

A chilly autumn night at the tavern. The insatiable thirst for Pumpkin Spice. Overly used seasonal tropes. Will you find only tricks, or also some treats?

…Yes, I am fully aware that the DM will tell me, “Not just ‘no,'” and then maybe come over to my house, just to throw something at me. Still: worth it.

09/13/2022 Snippet, BUZZ ON THE STREETS.

I actually got nothing done today. Too little sleep the night before. Going to bed early tonight!

Patreon!

“I guess they could be hand-prints, Lucas,” I eventually said. “You think somebody came in through that window” — the very small, dusty window — “then crawled across the ceiling, to do… what?”

“Descended down a rope until he was over their target,” Lucas said immediately. “This place gets pretty dark at night, so he wouldn’t be seen unless the guards got too close. It’d give him time to quietly pull the nails up from the crate, grab the goods, then come back the way he came.”

“That sounds pretty specific.”

“I’ve had to do something similar, once or twice.”

I bit back a smartass comment, and instead looked up at the ceiling. “I see smudges, Lucas. Where’s the hook?”

Lucas thought for a moment, then brightened. “He must have taken it with him when he left. Leave no clues behind, right? Besides, it’d have to be enchanted. You know, to take the weight.”

My tentative spot at Fright Reads!

Not yet locked in stone, but I don’t really expect it to change. This is where I’ll likely be at Fright Reads:

Hope to see you there!
