Ehh. Baronial meeting, D&D game, had to check out the youngest’s Halloween costume, had to check out the eldest’s Halloween costume, helped film the eldest’s Halloween home movie, did groceries – today was a busy day. I’m surprised I got in as many words as I did.

…but various of us got hit with various iterations of colds, so we ended up not going anywhere. I myself slept for a bit more than I’d like, this afternoon. Although I also got in a pretty good walk, out by the local waterfall. Anyway, taking it easy this weekend, while still getting things done.

Patreon!I wasn’t going to reach for my gun. Honestly. I mean, I’d been half-expecting the accusation for the last half hour; I just wasn’t sure if it’d happen here, or back home. I could also lie and say that I recognized right off that Oft wasn’t implying that I was covering up for the Scouts.
The truth, though? The Anticipant had positioned herself behind Oft, where I could see her clearly. She wasn’t even looking at me, but while Oft talked she mirrored my movements perfectly. Well, it wasn’t perfect, since she was making them a half-second before I did. She didn’t have a visible gun, for what that was worth. I figured that, in a fight, it wouldn’t be worth much.
Oddly, that reassured me. ‘Altered state of perception,’ my ass: the Anticipant was a flat-out witch, fresh from an Abubakri fairy tale. Witches, I could get my head around. Besides, nobody was shooting anybody yet, right? Although I guessed I’d know if I was about to do so, a half-second from now.
Book of the Week: Tales From The Fermi Resolution, Volume 1 (it’s on sale!).
As God is my witness, I’m as surprised as you are. Amazon decided to sell Tales From The Fermi Resolution for four bucks and twenty-four cents. I have no idea why that number, nor do I care: my cut remains intact. So now is the time to get that book in print! Hell, buy ten and hand them out as Christmas presents. Or buy a hundred, and hand them out on Halloween. Now is the time to take advantage of Amazon’s desperation…
