The Fermi Resolution Worldbook Backerkit starts in two weeks! Check out the Launch Party!

Seriously, go check it out and let me know what it needs. This is the first time I’m using Backerkit for crowdfunding and I welcome feedback. Not to mention all that sweet, sweet TTRPG crowdfunding money.

01/21/2025 Snippet, IRONGHOST.

Exploration!

“Where are all the damn house monsters?” Oxman grumbled as they climbed another set of stairs. They weren’t quite rickety, but the centuries were finally taking their toll of the ancient structures. “I haven’t even seen a giant roach.”

“Don’t tell me you’re one of those guys who likes the taste,” Nat responded. “You know what those things eat? Everything! Including the stuff you wouldn’t touch yourself.”

“Hey, sometimes roachmeat was all we had, growing up.” Oxman grinned at a memory. “My ma knew how to roast them up right.”

“Roachmeat was sometimes all we had, growing up,” Nat retorted. “That’s why I won’t eat it now.”

“More for me. Well, if we had any.” Oxman frowned. “Nothing that would eat them, either. Is this entire town monster-free?”

“I dunno. Ask the Gigglers.”

The KRAVEN THE HUNTER Honest Trailer.

I’m surprised. Honest Trailers noted that there were some good action sequences in KRAVEN THE HUNTER. I was expecting them to pan the entire thing. Maybe it’s not entirely bad?

The Secret World-North America TTRPG Kickstarter begins in a week.

Star Anvil Studios is offering the North America supplement to their Secret World TTRPG in both 5e and Savage Worlds, which is nice. I’m almost certainly going to pick the Savage Worlds version, too. It just feels like less of a kludgy fit than 5e would.

I should run this game at a convention. Heck, I should go to a gaming convention. The only problem there is, if I spend the money for an attendee’s badge, I might as well get a vendor’s badge, and then there’s gonna be little time for gaming…

I need a new photo headshot. Buy some books!

I mean, that’s pretty much the message, there. I had a photo of me taken that was good enough to make me want something other than the constipated-hobbit one I currently use, but those cost money. So… buy my books!

The full ‘Terrorists, Ritual Nihilists, and the Space-Happy’ is up on Patreon.

Link here, but the various parts of it already got posted on this site. Forgive me, it’s been a kind of itchy-tichy day. A bunch of stuff going on and the school system decided to do a delayed opening tomorrow. During midterms. Which messed up my scheduling in subtle and annoying ways.

01/19/2025 Snippet, IRONGHOST.

Post got et.

“…You were saying?” asked Oxman, an hour later. Quietly. While constantly tracking the area around their new, impromptu hidey-hole.

The human corpses had been noticeably fresher than the deer — fresh enough to still be stiff, if only enough bones had still been in one piece. There had been six of them, probably. At least, Oxman had counted six heads, and there was enough bits of splintered and rotting flesh left to make that particular math work out. But it wasn’t in any way a cheerful scene. Most of the bits were on the ground, or smeared across trees, and one luckless bastard looked like something had tried to punch a hole through his body, credibly enough to count.

Both men immediately understood that all of this absolutely wasn’t the work of a bear or gryphon; you only got that kind of malevolence and violence from sapient creatures. A half-mythical Old American observer would have wondered if the victims had been attacked by grenades, or possibly a claymore mine, but neither Nat or Oxman had any real references for that kind of carnage. Instead they both filed the atrocity under ‘monster attack,’ which is why they were now hunkered down in some convenient underbrush. It was probably coming back

Tweet of the Day, They All *Do* Be Like That edition.

Although I’m not a ‘torture the players’ type. I strive for a madcap style, particularly when I’m running a con game. I want people laughing and trying to one-up each other with how gonzo they’re getting, not desperately clawing for one more +1 to stave off their demise for a few more rounds. NTTAWWTOC.

*ALL* TTRPG's do be like that. pic.twitter.com/oiIqf5iOZu
