Patreon Microfiction: Timmy and the Bad Place.
Alas, ‘Timmy and the Bad Place’ just didn’t gel, last month. Such is life. Welp, there’s always next Christmas.

Tweet of the Day, It Was A Great Day For Roc… Excuse Me edition.
I said, IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR ROCK.
On this day in 1969 a new rock band called Led Zeppelin became known with the release of their debut album.

The album was recorded in just 36 hours of studio time and featured the innovative combination of blues, heavy rock, and acoustic elements that defined the band. pic.twitter.com/ONrTccE9n9Rock History

‘All I Want Is You.’
I’d never voluntarily engage in time travel. But if I was stuck in 1987 anyway, well… I guess I’d get tickets for this tour.

Another three weeks until the Fermi Resolution Worldbook Backerkit is live.
I think it’s going okay? I’ve been spending the last month and a bit nagging people to sign up for notifications on the Fermi Resolution Worldbook, and so far it’s been… I don’t actually know, exactly. I have more followers for this one than I did for my Kickstarters last year, but I don’t know whether that’s going to be something I can directly compare. I’ll have more information after this Backerkit launches, but that’s data I won’t fully have until March.

I also need to spend the next few weeks encouraging others to talk up my project. Emails go out to various folks next week, essentially begging for buzz. Always a weird part of the job, really – but one you have to do.

Book of the Week: THE WINDS OF FATE.

THE WINDS OF FATE (sequel to Steve Stirling’s time-travel novel TO TURN THE TIDE) is coming out in a few months, but the first two chapters are up on his main site. Fair warning: this is not going to be a sentimentalized version of the Roman Empire. These folks have yet to have their version of the Enlightenment. You Have Been Warned.

The Mechanism, Part 2 (Unfiltered).
I should start thinking about getting back to the actual story.
Who Goes Where, and Why?
Technically, it’s the job of S/CI to determine where transportees are sent. In reality, the NGO defaults to sending the transportee wherever the Great Power says to send them. S/CI reserves the right to ignore the packing label, and the Great Powers ignore a certain amount of rerouting. As long as it doesn’t happen too often.

Tweet of the Day, No. edition.
I will shoot you with my crossbow if you take a single step towards that jewel, Terry.
Do it.

Annoying evening.
Youngest Kid’s computer isn’t booting up. I suspect the hard drive may be hosed, and they want ridiculous amounts of money to recover those. I’ve already made an appointment with somebody in town to take a look at it tomorrow, though.
In the Mail: A CONVENTIONAL BOY.

Time to see what’s freaking out Charlie Stross this month! A CONVENTIONAL BOY is about D&D, so your guess is as good as mine. Presumably… never mind. That thought is unkind of me.
Sorry: it’s the usual problem. Charles Stross is an excellent writer who gets frightened over things that don’t particularly scare me. It really makes it hard to contemplate his books as horror, sometimes.
