Review for Stormy Weather

*I didn't have my Blog here set up before I posted this review, so I'm adding it as a new post. Lesson learned.*

In “Stormy Weather,” Ranialdo H. Timms relates the story of a young man’s journey into the military and, ultimately, into manhood. Beginning with his high school years in Alabama, he tells us about his decision to enlist, how his relationships changed, and how the challenges of such a life can both make and break people.
I enjoyed the first-hand narration of the story. It felt very much like I was sitting around a fire, having a drink or two, and listening to a friend tell me their life story. It’s a short story, and the tone is quite conversational; two elements which keep the subject matter from becoming overwhelming.
Sharing our experiences through stories is how we learn about each other as people; as human beings. I think the insights of a person with such a rich history of experience in a world so far removed from that of the average U. S. citizen are worth telling—and worth reading. I recommend you give it a read and see what you think!
