Are We Addicted to Ourselves?

“Thank you for your service.” This is a phrase usually reserved for military veterans and first responders who live a life that is dedicated to helping others through a sense of duty. –but what about the rest of us? Are we without duty? Shouldn’t we all be dedicated to a life of Service to Others?

Nowadays we are surrounded 24/7 by messaging that pushes service-to-self lifestyle choices that encourage us to put ourselves first, while saying tough-luck to the other guy.  “How can I get ahead?” “How does this benefit me?” “How does this make me look?” –me, me, me… Whether it's at work or at play, we have become a society that is so “me”-focused and narcissistic that unity, cooperation and the concept of harmonious community is ceasing to exist before our very eyes.

What happened? When did we all become frenemies, and rivals? Is this partly the “selfies” fault? Once that camera flipped around, did our personal value system get flipped too? Now, there is nothing wrong with taking photos or selfies, but when we become obsessed with them that's different. --and we must ask, have we as a society let ourselves become so selfie-obsessed and self-involved that we are desensitized to the needs of those around us, even our own families in some cases? Are we addicted to selfishness? Is it also a combination of greed, insecurity, and the spirit of competition taking over? These negative behaviors and selfish attributes can be observed in the majority of people today, and even in those who call themselves “leaders” or “influencers.” So, how do we fix this mindset? How do we flip the focus from striving to make ourselves seem superior, wealthy or rich and famous to instead placing value on doing our part to genuinely make the community a better place through selflessness and Service to Others?

Whether it's giving of your time, talent or your resources, selflessness is living in Service to Others without the expectation of reciprocation, praise or reward. Living in a manner that is selfless and harmless is how we overcome selfish or egotistical habits, and cultivate a lifestyle that benefits our community and society as a whole, not only ourselves. True selflessness is also devoid of virtue signaling and bragging. We see this a lot online, in business and in politics where individuals will exploit and expose those who are truly in need for the purposes of content creation, and concocting or manipulating public opinion. I’ve been guilty of this myself. Whether it was going on a mission trip or donating clothes to storm relief, there was a time in my life where I made sure I got a postable picture to prove my service, collect likes and make myself look a certain way. –and that is not true service. That is service with an agenda attached. When we broadcast the charitable deeds we’ve done with the intention of gaining accolades or acclaim in public or on social media we are actually being steered by our negative-ego and by Dark forces, and allowing gestures of Goodness to become tainted. A genuine Service to Others mindset acts without the desire or need to be noticed, and is happy to help even when there are no cameras or onlookers around.

When we are in Service to Others, and refuse to allow our negative-ego to tag along, we allow God to truly work through us, and become a powerful vessel for Love and Goodness that brings about positive change. As we learn to do this, selflessly, we attract to ourselves gifts and abundance directly from Godsource so that we can continue to be of service and grow our sphere of influence. As the saying goes, “life gives to the giver, and takes from the taker.”

These God given gifts aren’t always in the form of money or material resources, but can also be increased wellness, patience, peacefulness, and fulfillment which are indeed of great value, and should be recognized as precious treasures, too.

As the state of society stands, being in Service to Others can sometimes seem like an extremely daunting and sometimes lonely life path to take, especially when we regularly see individuals who exhibit blatant service-to-self behavior being exhaled, glamorized and materialistically enriched, but please understand that this is being done by design to Darken our spirits, and discourage us from living in alignment with Goodness (Godliness). It's important to remember that just like a boomerang, whatever quality of energy we put out will come back to us one way or another. Even though we rarely see people post when they receive their comeuppance, karmically, everything must be accounted for, and this is a function of Universal Law that can not be escaped.

Regardless of the selfish behavior we may see others displaying, we should make a pointed effort to extend selflessness and Love to everyone we come into contact with while understanding that serving others doesn’t have to be in monetary or material form. Service also isn’t something regulated to specific service days or mission trips. Everyday is a service day, and your life is your mission trip because Service to Others can be as simple as putting down your phone, and taking time to really listen to what someone has to say, giving them your undivided attention and responding with heartfelt care and consideration.

When we learn to be of service as a lifestyle while continuing to question the motivations behind our actions, this also allows us to pinpoint when our negative-ego is still in control, and we can better see where we need to place healing attention onto ourselves. This combination of service and a heightened sense of self-awareness leads to personal growth and community betterment simultaneously. When we commit to serve others, when we accept the mission, everyone wins.

As we dedicate ourselves to developing a mindset that values and understands the importance of service, we in turn spark others to do the same. Quietly, respectfully and consistently, this is how we are meant to lead. –not by boastfulness of words, but by actionable example.

While we should not expect recognition, when you do witness someone genuinely being of service, please take a moment to sincerely thank them. Acknowledging others, and showing gratitude for their time and good works can in itself be a service too, as a kind word of encouragement and a little motivation to keep going has the power to create more and more positivity in favor of Love and the Light of God.

May you find happiness in helping,

Are We All Possessed?

Although it can be unnerving and very weird to fathom or talk about, a common theme throughout my books involves the subject of possession. Over the course of my Nutritional Exorcism I came to understand that most people are indeed possessed by Dark spirits and Dark thought-forms. I certainly was. Understandably, this information can be highly triggering, as none of us want to think of ourselves as being under the influence of some otherworldly Evil force, but I encourage you to suspend any reactionary disbelief you may have, and try to neutrally discern the alternative.

If we, humans, are made in the image of God, why don't we act like it? Are we truly “bad” people, or is some outer force influencing and controlling our thoughts and behaviors negatively? Are we actually all possessed? If so, by what? Dark beings with names, and personalities of their own? Possibly. We’ve all likely experienced a disagreement where someone becomes so enraged that they seemingly change into a completely different person, even looking and sounding unlike themselves. –but what if it's much more simple, too? What if possession is as easy as being consumed by Dark thoughts that encourage Dark actions?

--The following is an excerpt from my upcoming book---

Understanding Possession

When we think about possession today, the visuals that tend to come to mind are those from scenes in horror films. --people with spinning heads crawling along the walls, spewing obscenities and projectile vomiting. These types of scenes depict temporary or full-body possessions which absolutely can happen, but most of the time possession is actually much more subtle.

Thought-form possession is likely the most common form of possession today, and afflicts nearly all individuals. Thought-form possession manifests as harmful or fearful thoughts and memories that build up in our minds, and cause emotional, mental and physical imbalances that ultimately damage the quality of daily life we are able to let ourselves experience.  As we know, thoughts are things. They hold energy. –and Dark thoughts hold Dark energy. As we become afflicted by Dark thoughts, without realizing it, we are actually being possessed by Dark energy or Dark spirits. This can include the spirits of anger, aggression, addiction, competition, envy, greed, fear, lust and so on. These negative spirits are able to latch on to us when we have weaknesses or wounding due to unresolved trauma, heartbreak and fears. Once attached to our mental or emotional body, these thought-form possessions sabotage us by pushing bad memories, false memories, general negativity, sourness, selfishness and depravity to the forefront of our consciousness with the aim to Darken our overall personality and inner-spirit. Dark energy or Dark spirit attachments can often appear to us as self-talk that is happening inside of our heads, and this voice can sound exactly like “us,” but it is not. This voice often tells us we are lazy, or not good enough, and will create loads of self-doubt, as well as convincing us that other people are our enemy. --again, this is not the real you. These are imposter spirits that are pretending to be you, and are working in the background as a saboteur to keep you looping in destructive mind sets. These trickster voices will even encourage you to harm yourself and others. Dark energy attachments also purposefully fuel addictions, materialism, narcissism, impulsiveness and will encourage you to seduce or manipulate others for selfish gain or sport. As we falsely identify and accept these voices and negative thoughts as being true to our nature and organic to us, the negative ego and our shadow self grows in favor of Darkness which causes our actions and behavior to become increasingly more negative, immoral and harmful. Over time, this way of being becomes normalized, and if not properly identified and addressed, these types of thought-form possessions can lead to a full shadow self takeover. When the shadow self and negative ego becomes in complete control, a person’s soul is at risk of becoming disconnected or repelled from the physical body, and temporary or full-body possession can more easily occur. As this happens, the individual unknowingly becomes a puppet or portal that Darkness is able to work through to create negativity and chaos in the person's personal life and their community-at-large. If we think about this happening in mass across the globe, it becomes clear that society is at an extreme disadvantage if we continue to remain unaware or deny the commonality of possession. The Truth is that nearly everyone is dealing with possession at some level of severity, and we must be willing to look at how Darkness is altering and disrupting genuine human behavior and our way of life as a species in order to solve the problem.

Although it can be unsettling to uncover and explore these types of Truths, this information is not intended to cause fear, judgment or shame. It is instead meant to empower us, as we can’t fix what we can’t see. When we become able to identify our own possessions and Dark energy attachments, we can better see where fears and negative emotions are controlling and triggering us into reactionary thought-patterns and behaviors. Pinpointing fears and negative emotions allows us to be able to source the events where specific traumas and emotional woundings occurred. When we can put a finger on the experiences that originally created these imbalances, we can then work forward to heal ourselves. Healing trauma enables us to exorcize these energetic thought-demons so that they can no longer cause us to become triggered. As we resolve emotional triggers, Darkness loses power over us, and is unable to wreak havoc in our lives and relationships. In addition to trauma healing, an important piece of the puzzle in exorcizing thought-demons is through the study and cultivation of virtue. True human nature is of Goodness and Virtue, and acts of virtue create a high vibrational field of energy that repels Dark energy.  As high moral character becomes an unwavering part of our psyche, and is demonstrated through our everyday actions and behaviors, Dark spirits will not have the ability to cling to you as they once did, and will naturally be cast out.

To do this successfully, to “face your demons,” we must be honest with ourselves, and be willing to admit where we have had blindspots that allowed Darkness to lead us astray.  As we come to understand just how common possession is, we can more easily move past any feelings of self-judgment or shame, and instead grant forgiveness and unconditional Love to ourselves and others around us. It is important that we as a society come to better comprehend possession and Dark energy attachments as increased understanding helps to remove the stigma of possession in general. As we become more aware of the energetic reality around us, we can better contend with Dark energy infiltration, and enable ourselves the ability to move forward towards wholeness on a global scale.

Although we may be experiencing levels of possession, this does not lessen our own accountability for our actions, or serve as an excuse for demonstrating  immoral behavior. Ultimately, we are all personally responsible, and must become accountable for the types of energy we allow to work through us. The easiest way to start recognizing your own thought-form possessions is through the power of asking “why?” Why am I thinking negatively about myself or another person? Why am I acting aggressively towards someone who doesn’t agree with me? Why am I manipulating or deceiving a business associate? Why am I trying to seduce someone else's spouse? Is this really me? –or is something else hiding behind my thoughts and motivations? Remember, if the thoughts you are thinking are of confusion, hate, fear, anger, worry, guilt, insecurity, jealousy, envy or egotism these are not of God. When we question our thoughts, behavior, actions and motivations we can determine what spirit is actually in control of us. The spirits of Love and Goodness (Godliness) will never demean you, discourage you or encourage you to victimize another person, place or thing, only Darkness and the selfish-negative ego will do that. By continually asking why, and making corrections to our thought-patterns where necessary, we can take back our own power and sovereignty by allowing virtue to transform our lives for the better.

As we make corrections to the way we think it is important to remember that your emotions are valid. Whether it's anger, sadness, disappointment or the like, we have to be able to let ourselves feel our emotions, and acknowledge that they are there. –but where we tend to run into problems is when we allow emotions and disappointments to overwhelm us to the point that we become depressed, hostile or manic when things don’t go our way. Darkness looks for opportunities to ride in on the waves of negative emotions, and when we dwell in these low states we become easy prey for negative thought-forms to grab hold of us and take control. The goal isn’t to become an apathetic or unfeeling robot, but to instead learn how to feel emotion while also being able to shift into a neutral mindset that is not attached to a specific outcome. When we can shift into neutral we allow our trust in God’s plan to take precedence, and this surrender to Divine Will points us toward our correct life path.

Dedicated self-reflection, neutrality and the cultivation of virtue is how we successfully exorcize our demons, and enable ourselves to become one with the Light of God. –but it is up to each individual to wake up, and take back their own reins. No one else can do this work for us, and Darkness will never willingly concede. We must be willing to fight in order to regain our personal freedom, and that means refusing to be influenced and bound by negative thoughts and voices that masquerade through our minds. You can free yourself.

Wishing you loving and kind thoughts always,

-Mallory

*If you feel guided, the statement "I am one with God. I am Sovereign. I am Free." is a powerful tool that can be used to establish yourself as separate from Darkness. This can be used in prayer, or as a personal mantra as you go about your day.

Is an "F'that" Attitude Hexing You?

F’that, F’them, F, F, F… we’ve become a society that uses these terms constantly, casually and without any real knowledge of what we are actually doing. Whether it’s aimed at ourselves, something, someone or a whole group, many of us are quick to use these kinds of flippant phrases, and assume these types of attitudes when things don’t go our way, or when a person doesn’t see things exactly the way that we do. As a result, these terms are thrown around like toxic candy, and can even be found in regular use inside of social movements and spiritual communities that preach Love and tolerance, and by those who are supposed to be in positions of leadership.

In today’s social climate, interactions based upon true kindness can sometimes be scarcely found as many of us are being blindly driven by the menacing spirits of anger, insecurity, envy and competition. —especially in online community settings where people are allowed to spew hatred, sarcasm and judgment while hiding behind manufactured facades of themselves. This has unfortunately become our new “normal,” and whether friend or foe, we regularly speak to others with belittling tones and terms to stroke, and reinforce our own superiority complexes. When we speak to each other in this disrespectful manner we encourage our own division, and real unity and peace becomes impossible.

When it comes down to it, everything we do, think or say can be simplified down to Love or Hate(Fear), and we must take the time to dissect, understand and take responsibility for which spirit or energy we ourselves are propagating, furthering and becoming possessed by at all times. Ask yourself, are you propagating Love in your daily interactions, or are you possessed by Hate?

Even in situations where we may be “right,” the moment we assume the F’that/F’Them attitude, Darkness instantly wins, and the negative ego, or shadow self, becomes in control. When we allow this mindset to take hold of us, we also often encourage and spread this type of thinking to the others around us which further contributes to the divide and conquer of harmonious society. This can be seen in action on personal levels like with familial disagreements, and on larger scales such as with political discord that involve whole nations. These attitudes create enemy patterning, and this is how Darkness becomes perpetuated, and strengthened across communities and society as a whole.

As words are symbols of thought, and thoughts hold energy, it's easy to deduce that words carry and send energy. Furthermore, if we think about the terms “cursing” and “spelling” in regard to language, what we already know becomes amazingly apparent. Words are powerful, and words can be weapons. So, if we are thinking, speaking and writing hate-filled messages, or using poor, casual language, we are actually sending ill-will, hexes and curses to others and ourselves. When we do this, whether consciously or unconsciously, we are also bringing negative karmic return back onto us, as whatever energy we extend eventually comes back, just like a boomerang. When we stop and think about the weight of this, it becomes amazingly clear just how important the role of language becomes. If we are habitually saying things like “F’them” or “F’me” over and over throughout our day-to-day, we are actually in the habit of directing negative energy to others and ourselves all while wondering why we aren’t happier people.

Most of us are not raised with the knowledge that our word choice is energetically important, and as a result we fall prey to the habit of using casual language and slang terms that create negative energy in our lives. Through tools such as social media, TV, radio, movies and the books we read, our language and everyday vernacular is influenced and grossly dumbed-down. This is being done on purpose, and the progression of this can be easily seen when we take the time to look back at the degradation of language over the course of human history.

We must stop, and ask why? Why are we being dumbed-down in favor of lingo that breeds Darkness? As we begin asking these important questions, and move forward with this awareness, we can change our habits in favor of positivity and Love. By monitoring our speech and word choice, along with questioning our thoughts and reactionary behaviors when they surface, we can instantly increase the quality of energy that we ourselves project, and that comes back to us in return. By becoming more self-aware, and better understanding the energetic mechanics of language, we can help create a more peaceful community for ourselves and those around us, as well as for our children.

I often say to myself, “your calm is your superpower,” and indeed it is. When dealing with disappointment and interacting with other individuals and situations that may be triggering, our ability to stay calm, collected and think before we speak, gives us a spiritually-based advantage over reactionary negative emotions and circumstances. Thinking and feeling, instead of immediately reacting, allows us the ability to more easily practice loving kindness, even when we don’t agree with each other. As the old adage goes, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”

As we begin to monitor our language, this also makes the quality of our thoughts more apparent to us, and gives us the ability to dig deeper into why we are thinking one way or another. This allows for greater self-awareness where we can begin to heal underlying issues that are triggering us, and causing our poor-mindsets. Once we can get to the root of poor-thinking, our language naturally improves, and we cease in bringing hexes upon ourselves and others.

The only way to test this in your own life is to put it into practice, and “watch your mouth.” If you can work to clean up your language, and the thoughts behind your words, making a dedicated effort to stop “F’ing” this or “d*mning” that, you will begin to feel more of an ease and effortlessness as you go about your daily routine. --but it is solely up to us as individuals to make an effort in order to experience any amount of positive energetic change. --and it's also important to remember that what the mouth says is a reflection of what lives inside the heart.

Wishing you loving thoughts and kind words,

BOOK EXCERPT: "What is Your Nutritional Value?"

At the beginning of the year I began writing my second non-fiction book that chronicles my ongoing experience undergoing a Nutritional Exorcism. This time around, I decided to share an extremely personal portion of my testimony that deals directly with Feminine Healing, and trauma recovery.

I’m excited to announce that the writing process is fully finished, and I’m now moving into the final stages of publication. When the time is right I'll be sharing more information along with the project's title, but while waiting for the release, I’ll be posting excerpts that may be helpful to others, and not strictly females, including subjects like “overall nutrition,” and discussing how we can enhance our personal nutritional value.

Thank you to everyone who has given me their support, and shown me love during this challenging process of writing, and self-exploration!

____________The following is a expert from my upcoming book:
"Nutrition is not limited to just the food we eat. Everything we interact with has a nutritional value, and feeds us either positively or negatively. —what we eat, think, see and hear all have an effect on our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. In order to evolve ourselves we must become responsible for our overall nutrition. Once I came to this realization during the course of my Nutritional Exorcism, I began to inspect every aspect of my life. What I watched, what I read, what I thought, the music I listened to, who I spent my time with, what I spent my money on and even the clothes I wore had to be fully dissected in order to become more fully nourishing to myself, and into alignment with Godliness, and Divine Femininity.

One of the most powerful elements of nourishment that we encounter on a daily basis is sound. If we are continually surrounded by stressful noises, like arguing and shouting, whether at home or in our workplace, this takes a toll on our physical bodies, mental condition, health and spiritual wellness. This also extends to the music we listen to, especially if we are already experiencing stress, anger, anxiety or depression. The power of music is universally recognized, and is also understood by Dark forces who have exploited and hijacked music, and the music industry in order to turn sound into a psychological weapon that can be used to mind control, trigger, scramble and emotionally torment us. As this is our current reality, it becomes evermore important to only listen to music that is uplifting, positive or calming. When we listen to music that is sad, dwells in loneliness or heartbreak, or is amelodic, frenzied,
angry or hate-filled we become consensual with those qualities of vibrational energy. If we are already experiencing low states of mind due to our own stressful life experiences, we can easily become addicted to types of music that encourage negative energy commiseration. Although it can seem comforting, or appear as though a musical artist understands us, dwelling in low emotional states through music only fuels the creation of more Darkness in our behavior and actions, and also allows for the power of suggestion to be used against us. As the goal is to be happy and calm, we should only be listening to music that supports this way of being. –and the same goes for anything we engage with visually.      Anything that creates pictures in our minds is using the power of suggestion to control what manifests in our reality, including what we watch on TV, view online or read. If what we visually feed ourselves is characterized by stressful, violent, sad, dramatic or any other types of Dark imagery, those themes are more likely to materialize into our own reality through the Law of Attraction because you get what you think about most often.

It is important to also understand that we ourselves hold an energetic nutritional value when we interact with others. In this regard, we should work to increase our personal nutritional value so that we are beneficial to those around us, and do not detract, or create a drag on familial and societal well-being. One way we do this is by actively addressing our own emotional issues and frustrations when they arise, and not ignoring them to the point that our behavior, fears or depressive emotional state begins to negatively affect our families, colleagues, the cashier at the grocery store or anyone else we may come into contact with. To be truly nourishing to others, we should also take care to exhibit trustworthiness, virtuous behavior, non-judgement, positivity and extend unconditional Love in all of our experiences and interactions. Ask yourself, are you someone you would want to spend time with? Are you nourishing to be around?"

'STU'S SHOW' INSIGHTS: Where Do We Go When Hospitals Become Inhospitable?

Have you seen 'Stu's Show' yet? I’ll do my best not to expose any spoilers in case you haven’t, but our latest documentary is a love story that also explores the substandard state of today’s medical environment and healthcare system as our hero, Stu Shostak, fights to keep his girlfriend, now wife, Jeanine, alive after she slips into a coma following a severe medical emergency. As we filmed with Stu over the last two years (coincidentally coinciding with the Pandemic) we have lived day after day in the realm of health advocacy, learning exactly what it takes to get a loved one the proper care they need when they are faced with a life-and-death health situation. –and unfortunately, many times it seems to take a lot of kicking and screaming.
We would all like to think that when we are sick or hurt that the medical system will be in our corner at all times while we are hospitalized or undergoing treatment, but sadly, this is not the case. Between Stu’s experience and many of his friends that we interviewed, we listened to horror story after horror story about people experiencing neglect and inconsiderate treatment by hospitals, doctors, staff and the insurance companies when they were simply trying to get their loved one well. The two themes that were echoed the most from these stories were the understaffing of medical facilities, and of course, money.

The rising cost of health-care is something that should concern everyone. Year after year people are footing higher bills for treatment and higher insurance premiums while the level of care they receive is not up to par with the prices they are paying. We must ask why? Why are prices getting higher and higher? Is it legitimate? Or is it something else? In the course of the documentary, Stu relives a fiery conversation that took place with a caseworker when Jeanine was being discharged from the hospital because her insurance company was refusing to pay for her needs. As he put it, they were treating her like an expendable “piece of meat.” In the midst of demanding an explanation, the caseworker went on to tell him that he was interfering with a system that purposefully overcharges for patient care knowing that insurance companies will often refuse to pay out. The patient is discharged, and as these exorbitant bills go unpaid, turning into bad debt, they can then be written off as a loss by the hospitals on their yearly taxes. "It's an endless circle my friend," said the caseworker. This was mind-boggling to me as a human being, and yet it made so much sense as a business strategy. If this is indeed the case this would mean that the modern medical system is being run by leaders who are not focused on helping people, but are instead running a cut and dry “business” where the chief concern is their bottom line. How did we get here, and why are more people not openly talking about this? Why are medical industry workers not continually blowing the whistle on this inhumane profiteering tactic? Or do they, and then find themselves shunned and dismissed? Is this also contributing to the growing problem of understaffing?

"We are over-patient'd, and under-staffed." This is the phrase that Stu heard over and over when he was being given excuses as to why Jeanine was not receiving the proper care she deserved. Understaffing seems to be a plague that is affecting nearly every type of medical facility that is caring for hospitalized patients, including nursing homes and convalescent care centers. It's easy to see the extreme unfairness that is placed on hospital staff when there are not enough hands on deck. I feel most people who go into the medical care industry have sincerely held intentions of wanting to help and be of service to others who are in need, but as staffers, social workers, nurses and doctors are continually overworked and overstressed, naturally the level of care and compassion they show to patients and patient’s families can begin to dwindle to unsympathetic and unempathetic states. This is when the mindset of "I'm doing what I have to do, collecting my paycheck and going home," sets in. –and when this happens, we all lose. –both workers, patients and the human race in general.

When we endure unempathetic treatment from an individual or group (especially when we are in states of fear for our own or our loved one’s survival) we can often become unempathetic to that person in return, which creates a cycle that can be referred to as victim-victimizer behavior. This also leads to enemy thought-patterning where we no longer see ourselves as “on the same team,” and we begin treating the person who we are ultimately relying on for help as if they are our adversary. As this “us vs. them” mindset takes shape, hostility and anger quickly breeds on both sides, and begins touching and affecting every facet of our lives. Our negative emotions, fears and frustrations routinely spill over to other interactions as we go about our day, and these high-levels of stress are felt by and sometimes taken out on the others around us such as our children, families, friends, and our community. KABOOM! What starts out as a bad interaction stemming from understaffing quickly snowballs into something that goes on to negatively affect familial and societal well-being as a whole. –and as this compounds and occurs over and over in treatment centers across the globe, negativity and Dark energy gains a tighter grip on more and more individuals and medical workers, which in turn contributes to their own ill-health, dis-ease and eventual hospitalization too. Can you see the never-ending cycle that is being created?

This problem began long before we were hit with the pandemic, so why has this been allowed to happen, and not foreseen in time to be remedied? Why aren’t we able to properly staff one of the most important institutions of public necessity? Is it solely because of a lack of qualified health care workers, a shortage of incoming medical students, and a portion of current workers retiring or leaving due to burn-out? With the amount of medical training programs out there, there must be some viable plan of action that could be put into place to immediately help alleviate the burden on current staff, while also training and enticing more young people to enter the medical field.  I can think of a handful of options off the top of my non-medically trained head, so why do healthcare leaders seem to be caught in the dark, and moving so slowly? Is it an administrative or internal issue? Is it bureaucracy? Is it politics? With this going on for as long as it has been, it gets to the point that you naturally begin to wonder if this again all goes back to money, and the propagation of an industry that profits more from our stress, sickness and death than it does from true health. Is this all part of a sophisticated formula that stealthily creates a perfect storm?

There are many tough questions that we must all have the courage to ask in order to ever be able to usher in much needed change. We must be willing to take a step back, with our emotions intact, in order to recognize where we may have had blind spots in the past so that we can piece together the puzzle, and begin to see the bigger picture. –and we can not continue to be pacified with being told “that’s just the way things are” any longer. No one should have to fight the kind of fight that Stu and millions of others are enduring in an effort to get there loved one decent levels of care. No one should be reduced to feeling like the only way they can get results is to become a "raging maniac." –and no medical worker should be pushed so far, and spread so thin that they lose their desire to help others.  We must demand that a sense of humanity be brought back into healthcare, and that requires the medical system to begin valuing patients and their employees over profit.
Until unsavory questions like these are answered and big changes can be implemented, we need to also remember and strive to be more compassionate and patient with each other, especially when we are in stressful situations. My biggest hope for ‘Stu’s Show’ is that it will go on to act as a mirror, and speak to how important kindness and empathy are to the human experience, especially in environments where healing is suppose to be taking place. If you have a loved one in the hospital, please try to be as respectful as possible to the over-burdened medical workers who are also enduring stress within their personal lives, and likely pulling a double shift. –and if you are that worker, remember that the patient’s family member who may come across as irrational and pushy is simply afraid, and acting out of love for their person the best they know how. In all interactions, kindness and respect must start with us. If we are able to stop fighting against each other, we can and will bring about meaningful change, but we can only do it together.___________________I believe the puzzle pieces of Truth are more easily revealed when we are able to respectfully share our knowledge and genuine experiences with each other, even when we may or may not completely agree. What do you think?  What experience and knowledge can you share on this subject?

New Year, New Aims

As we move into 2022, many of us are beginning to ponder our New Year’s resolutions.

Last year my aim was to give up caffeine, and I can happily say that I was successful in that goal, and have seen enormous benefits including better sleep, higher levels of sustained energy, and a relief in instances of anxiety.

This year, my aim is going to be more of an overall goal to unwaveringly “practice what you preach.” --be it more consistently maintaining my meditation practice even on busy days, being a steady source of Love for those who do not reciprocate without being discouraged or offended, and not giving in to food cravings .

Even when we generally know what is best for us, and know what we should be doing to maintain our best-self, overcoming mental-hurdles and moments of weakness are where our real health battles lie.

Foodwise, my biggest challenge appears when I travel. I can easily get caught in a trap where it seems easier and more convenient to let dietary hindrances “slip a little,” and these episodes and habits of treating myself while out-of-town can oftentimes linger once I return home too, which always leaves me feeling less than tip-top a few weeks later.

So this year, I intend to stick to what I know works, and to find the wherewithal to refrain from bending to temptations when away from home.

What’s your New Year’s aim?

Cheers to self-improvement, Love and Happiness!

What Holiday Spirit Are You Spreading?

As we find ourselves deep inside the Holiday season surrounded by the beauty of twinkling lights and tinsel, the truth is it's also easy to find ourselves overwhelmed with stress, and in a less than joyous state. Between shopping lists, extra-spending and striving to make everything and everyone around us appear “Instagram Perfect,” we can quickly lose our footing and fall prey to the Spirits of anxiety, anger, frustration, exhaustion, and the like.

So what can we do to keep these Anti-Holiday Spirits from swooping in, and wrecking our festive experiences and mindset? SLOW DOWN. It’s as simple, and as difficult as that. Slow your racing mind, and banish the feelings of franticness from interfering with your well-being, and controlling your state of mind and actions.

When we find ourselves in states of chaotic hurry, we naturally lose the ability to think accurately, and are unable to put things into proper perspective –and proper perspective is what we desperately need.

The Holidays, no matter your religious or personal spiritual beliefs, are supposed to be about celebrating and spreading the Spirits of Love, Joy, Peace, Generosity and Happiness. –and sharing these gifts selflessly with everyone, not just with our families or the people we “like.” –and sharing with no expectation of receiving anything in return.

So we must stop and ask ourselves, what Holiday Spirits are we spreading? –positive ones, or stressful ones?

With all the hustle and bustle that we experience in our daily lives, it is also easy to forget that the Holidays are emotionally difficult for many of those around us, as this season can tend to serve as a grim reminder of loss and lack, whether that be in monetary or material form, or in the form of family members and friends who are no longer in our lives due to death or other forms of parting.

A dear friend of mine tragically lost her sister, Sondra, to suicide last week, and yet even in her time of deep grief she shared a post that I felt should be further shared to serve as a reminder for us all to take the time to better Love each other –including strangers on the street, or the cashier manning the never-ending line at the grocery store.

Here is her message:

"I just want to validate for anybody who can feel it, it can feel like a really hard time to be alive right now. Quite honestly, I got off social media because it was depressing me how awful people were being to each other on here. Some days it felt like people were forgetting what it means to be human. Because it was sad for me to watch, I felt like my energetic contribution to the collective was going to be its best if I got offline and just prayed during this time and spent time with the people I Love the most and doing my service work for the world. But with Sondra's passing, I am realizing that the world needs hope and Love right now more than ever. And if my words of encouragement make a difference in the life of just one person, that is what matters. Hope and Love are what we all need right now. I just want to remind my friends with the holiday season coming up - Life is not just happening online, it's happening in real life too. Spend time with the people you Love. Put down your phone while you're eating dinner with them. Hug them. Cherish them. Remember what it means to be human. Remember that each person has a story and that unkind or aggressive people need your Love the most. Have healthy boundaries, but don't take the driver who cuts you off or random stranger that flips you off personally. When a family member is having an irrational response to a small qualm, don't take that personally either. The holidays have a tendency to stress everybody out. Remember that at every person's core, all they want is Love. And this goes for you, too. Be kind to yourself. If you're like my Sondra, you may be the type that is kind to everybody, but don't give yourself the same Grace. On behalf of her memory, please make an effort to be more kind to yourself.  Self-kindness and loving kindness to others is how we change the world. Please remember that you are very Loved, even when you can't feel it in your bones. The world is better with you in it--never forget that.

Love, Lauren"

May we all endeavor to spread and cultivate Loving Spirits this Holiday season, and every other day too. I love you all, and wish you abounding happiness and peace.

-Mallory
