'Songs of Suicide' poems are all about healing
My collection of poems 'Songs of Suicide' has just been released in India and globally. Several of my readers found the title intimidating in the beginning and raised a question as to why I chose this title. My answer to them was straight and simple. I told them that 'Songs of Suicides' do not abet but heal. The collection, hence, has been penned with an intention to make friends with people who go through circumstances that can drive them to end their life.
The collection tends to peep into the lives of people, who pass through atrocious circumstances and excruciating experiences so much so that suicide becomes the only viable option. Songs of Suicide , in short, includes poems that paint the mental state of troubled souls through the emotions of love, longing, loneliness, worthlessness, sadness, disgust, and despair, but to show light and evolve as a helping hand. I've picked up universal instances of suicide to develop an understanding for the anguished people whom all of us might have seen or heard of attempting to kill themselves. These modern ballads, as I call them, are here but to heal.
