NaNoWriMo days 11-14
I made my goal on day 10! I am still writing on day 14, but at 2946 for the last four days, I'm pretty certain I'm not going to make my goal of 8000. In other words, shame's mother kicked him out of the house, my mother felt sorry for him and let him move in with us temporarily, and WHY DID SHE DO THAT? DIDN'T SHE EVER WATCH ROSEANNE?
Here on day 14 I am sitting at 16,777 for the month, and yet I am feeling strangely optimistic about my chances of winning NaNoWriMo, because I have done a lot of plot and character work in the last few days and I have a much better sense of where I'm going. I need only 2076 words a day to make it. Tomorrow I will write 3000. Really.
Now you! Please post:
1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on days 11-14
5. How many words you actually wrote on days 11-14 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. Your total for the month so far
7. How many words you need to write each day for the next 16 days in order to win--that's 50,000 minus your total so far, and then divide that number by 16
8. How many words you're going to write on day 15

NaNoWriMo day 10
I've written only 1100 so far today, but I'm confident I'll hit my promised 2000 this afternoon. I wanted to go ahead and give you a place to post your success because I'm going offline until Monday. I think it's really important for my writing life and mental health to take a break from the internetz now and then. Over the long weekend plus Monday, I'm writing 2000 words per day, or 8000 total.
Speaking of which--if you living in Birmingham, come and interact with other real people on Sunday! There's a NaNoWriMo write-in from 2 to 6 at Blackwell's Pub in Cahaba Heights. My squid hat and I will be there from 2 to 4. This write-in is sponsored by Southern Magic , the Birmingham chapter of Romance Writers of America, but everyone is welcome.

NaNoWriMo day 9
My husband has been waiting patiently for me to go eat pho with him. I am starving but I am finally done with those last few words. I said I would write 2000 today and I wrote 2039. Crossing fingers for some really good character work and plotting this afternoon. Tomorrow I will write 2000.
Hey, if you're a newcomer, please join us. We have plenty of room since 7/8 of the people who said they would be posting have dropped out. Here's hoping they are still doing NaNoWriMo and holding themselves accountable. We are all going to be so happy with ourselves and the great work we have done when this is over!

NaNoWriMo day 8
I'm Jennifer Echols and I usually write YA, but at the moment I'm writing an adult romantic comedy called STAR CROSSED. I said I would write 3000 words today. I actually wrote 3019 words of rich, golden-brown goodness with a chocolatey glaze, dissimilar in texture but reminiscent of the taste of a deep-fried Snickers. Tomorrow I will write only 2000 as I take time for development. Some plot would be a nice change at this point.
If you're in Birmingham, don't forget the NaNoWriMo write-in at Blackwell's Pub from 2 to 6 on Sunday. I have something else to do on Sunday too, but I will try to make it at least part of the time. If you feel like you're going nuts, meeting with other real-life writers will always make you feel more sane, especially if one of them is wearing a squid hat.

NaNoWriMo day 4
I'm Jennifer Echols and I'm writing an adult romantic comedy.
Day 4 is coming to a close and I have written nothing. AGAIN. However,
victoria_dahl
and I claim we are going to write now. We'll see. I'm come back and post my result later.
I try to stay off the internet on the weekend, so let's plan to meet back here on Monday with our word counts for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I'm going to write a total of 6000 for those three days.

I'm picking up

at the airport in a few hours, and we will probably be busy giggling for the rest of the night. So I wanted to go ahead and give you a place to post your day 3 word count in case I don't make it back here to post my own awesome count until tomorrow.

NaNoWriMo day 2
I'm Jennifer Echols and I usually write YA. During NaNoWriMo I'm writing STAR CROSSED, my adult romance debut with Pocket Books.
Pledged for today: 2000 words
Wrote today: 2021 words!
Pledge for tomorrow: 2000 words. I feel like the words were not very good today, so I'm going to try to have interesting dreams tonight and come up with something better for tomorrow.
Now you.

5. How many words you actually wrote on day 2 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. How many words you're going to write on day 3
By the way, it seems like there are a LOT of people who haven't yet posted their day 1 progress. I happened to see shame today and he said he got your phone number off the bathroom wall.

NaNoWriMo day 1
I'm Jennifer Echols and I usually write YA. During
NaNoWriMo
I'm writing STAR CROSSED, my adult romance debut with Pocket Books.
Pledged for today: 1667 words
Wrote today: 1704 words WOO-HOO
Pledge for tomorrow: The Birmingham NaNo leader, Jared Millet, says it's better to go for 2000 per day than the 1667 you need on average, because that way you'll have a buffer if something comes up. I think that's smart so I'm writing 2000 tomorrow.
Now you. If you're coming late, please join us! Just remember there is NO WHINING on this blog. Also, if you post about what you're going to write and then you don't come back to tell us what happened, we ***might*** make fun of you a little bit.
