I won! Did you?

Wow. I am intrigued by this NaNoWriMo 2 idea, but can we talk about it tomorrow?

NaNoWriMo day 29

Not now, I'm writing. YES I'm going to win.

You?

1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on day 29
5. How many words you actually wrote on day 29 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. How many words you're going to write on day 30 OH MY GOD IT'S DAY 30

NaNoWriMo day 28

Ha! I wrote 5000 words today. I only have to do that twice more and I'm done. Stop looking at me so sadly. I don't need your pity. *overly sensitive glare*

NaNoWriMo days 23-27

I said I would write 15,000 words on days 23-27. I said I did not want to but I HAD to. I actually wrote 7000.

You know what this means, don't you? I have to write 5000 words today, 5000 words tomorrow, and 5000 words Wednesday in order to win NaNoWriMo. I am not giving up. Sure I can still win. Though I do acknowledge this enterprise is taking on a Monty Python-esque quality and I fully expect a British man in a suit of armor to yell at me, "But your leg's off!" Come back I say. I will bite your knees.

How about you?

1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on days 23-27

6. How many words you're going to write on day 28

NaNoWriMo day 22

I said I would write 3000 words yesterday and I did. I am so proud of myself because those words did not come easy, and my son and I baked two cakes and a batch of cupcakes somewhere in the middle of them.

I will write 3000 words every day from today through Sunday. I don't want to, and I think it will be really hard, but I have to in order to win. I keep reminding myself of what I have been telling people about NaNoWriMo, because it's true: there will never in your life be a convenient month to write a novel.

How did you do?

1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on day 22
5. How many words you actually wrote on day 22 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. How many words you're going to write on days 23-27

NaNoWriMo day...what day are we on?

I said I would write 9500 words in the last four days and I wrote, like, 3000. And yet I FEEL as if I am writing a lot. Bathing seems like a lot of trouble and that sort of thing.

50,000 words seems like a long way away. November 30 does not. And yet I CAN still finish, if I write 3000 words tomorrow. And every remaining day this month.

Please tell me you did better.

1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on days 18 (Friday), 19 (Saturday), 20 (Sunday), and 21 (Monday)
5. How many words you actually wrote on days 18 (Friday), 19 (Saturday), 20 (Sunday), and 21 (Monday) (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. How many words you're going to write on day 22

NaNoWriMo day 17

Are we the only four people still writing? I hope we are just the four people still posting. Week three of NaNoWriMo gets very lonely!

I said I would write 2000 yesterday and I wrote the big 612. I felt terrible about this. I've been having huge problems with this book, OBVIOUSLY. But last night I woke up with the answer, which is the first time that ever happened to me I think.

So! Today, tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday, I am going to write 9500 words. I really don't want to because I am running the Ruben Studdard Half Marathon on Sunday, but I have to if I'm going to win NaNo.

And, hey--do you need an extra dose of shame? [info] lisadunick hasn't posted on this blog in a while, but judging from her Facebook page, she won NaNo last night.

How about you?

1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on day 17
5. How many words you actually wrote on day 17 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)
6. How many words you're going to write on days 18 (Friday), 19 (Saturday), 20 (Sunday), and 21 (Monday)

NaNoWriMo day 16

Ugh! I pledged 3000 and only wrote 1857, and they weren't particularly good words, either. Tomorrow I will write 2000. Did you do better? Please post:

2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on day 16
5. How many words you actually wrote on day 16 (NO EXCUSES--you did or you didn't)

NaNoWriMo day 15

I am Jennifer Echols and I am writing an adult romance called STAR CROSSED. I said I would write 3000 words today and I wrote 3024! I am so happy! I also did a lot of Very Hard Thinking. I can go to bed with a clear conscience and no shame, IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Tomorrow I will write another 3000.

How about you?
1. Who you are
2. What sort of book you're writing
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, because this is a writing community: cheers and well wishes for the person who posted right above you
4. How many words you said you would write on day 15

Exciting news!

We interrupt this National Novel Writing Month for a couple of special announcements. First, the e-book version of The One That I Want will go on sale only three weeks from today, on December 6! You can pre-order it for Kindle or Nook . If you prefer a paperback, it will be in stores on February 7. You can pre-order it now from Amazon or Barnes & Noble .

Second, thanks to your votes, Love Story has made it to the next round of the Goodreads Choice Awards ! The voting starts over now, so I would really appreciate it if you took the time to vote again. I'm grateful for your support.

And now...I think I pledged to write 3000 words today.
